Josh Brolin has been cast as Cable in Deadpool 2.
IGN can confirmed that Brolin, who currently serves as Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, has signed a four-film deal to play the character who was first teased in a post-credits scene of the original Deadpool film.
The four-picture deal would likely extend beyond roles in Deadpool-centric films, as producer and writer Simon Kinberg has said that both Deadpool and Cable will appear in the planned New Mutants movie.
Brolin first debuted as Thanos in Marvel Studios' cinematic universe, which exists separately from Fox's Marvel universe, in 2014. He also made a cameo appearance as the character in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron and is set to return in Avengers: Infinity War.
