Destiny was originally intended to launch in 2013, with a sequel initially planned for September 2015.

According to online court documents following the legal dispute between Bungie and long-time Bungie employee Marty O'Donnell, sequels for the sci-fi shooter -- referred to in the paperwork as Project Tiger -- were planned for every other year until September 2019, ending with a "largest downloadable content product" for Comet (read: Destiny) 4 in 2020.
