Gazillion Entertainment CEO David Brevik has announced his resignation from the free-to-play developer after working at the studio for over six years.
Brevik, who co-founded Blizzard North helped create the Diablo franchise, is leaving Gazillion after overseeing development on its free-to-play PC game Marvel Heroes.
According to acting CEO Dave Dohrmann, his departure was "amicable," telling GamesBeat the studio is currently seeking a permanent replacement.
Following the announcement of his departure, Brevik released a statement to Gamasutra, noting that while it wasn't an easy decision, he really wants to return to programming games. "As for what's next, I am going to go indie," he said. "I'm going back to doing the things I love most: programming and making games. I will have more details in the future."
