Hello all, can somebody tell me is there any supplier based in ireland, or if anyone know is it allowed to order pv, pg and nicotine from other countries in ireland.
I am new in vaping, but I am definitly interested in diy, and mixing flavours etc, but my first concern is how legaly get supply.
Next, my current liquid is 70-30 pg-vg 3mg in 10ml bottle from VIP made in uk and I like it.
My question is, for making juice do I need anything else except pg,vg, nicotine, flavour, and equipment like syringes, bottles, gloves?

Unless you want to mix max VG there's no real reason to get nicotine in a VG base. PG based Nicotine is so much easier to mix with. As for storage, keep a small portion of nicotine in the refrigerator, and freeze the rest of it. PG, VG, and flavors just keep in a cool, dark space.

Thank you for reply and advice.
For beginning I order equipment for mixing based on liquid measure.
Here is my first simple mix and I am pretty sure that I will make sme mistake no matter how simple it is :D
So I will be using 50:50vg/pg based nicotine 50mg in 100ml bottle.
My target is 10ml 50:50 vg/pg vanilla flavour juice with nicotine strength of 3mg.
So here is what calculator give to me:
Nicotine base: 0.6ml
Vanilla 2ml
Vg 4.7ml
Pg 2.7ml

Is it correct?
Is all flavours pg based?
What after mixing?

Using steam engine calculator....

If you are shooting for a 20% single flavor total then yes, that is correct.

I should mention that seldom do single flavor recipes at that high a percentage turn out too well. You didn't mention the flavoring brand so that isn't known but at least with the ones I have familiarity with, that isn't advisable, at least not to start anyway. I'd start with 10% or less depending on the flavor and manufacturer in question and adjust upwards if necessary.

Yes, most flavors are carried in PG although there are some that use different carriers ( such as VG for example ) however they are the exception rather than the rule.

You're welcome, happy to help.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'what after mixing' ... are you asking if it needs to sit for a while and 'steep' as it is commonly called? If so, well that depends on the recipe and the flavors used. Generally speaking however, many vanillas do benefit from a brief period of time to allow the flavor to permeate throughout the carrier. There is no hard and fast rule here really, mainly it depends on your personal tastes and what works best for you.

You could always mix up say 20ml and try half of it right away while allowing the remainder to age or 'steep' for a few days. Steeping is usually more advantageous with multiple flavors however because some flavors are more readily apparent at first mix than others so giving them time to come together can result in a more balanced flavor overall.

Oh, one thing you should probably get in the habit of doing is to shake your flavoring well before using it. Some flavors will settle a bit so shaking them prior to use can help you avoid winding up with a weak mix.

Of course mixing means you ensure your components are blended together well, whether you shake, stir or use some other method to combine the ingredients. Other than that, it's just a matter of adding it to your device of choice and vaping away. :)

Sure, no worries my friend, I understand ... I remember being a little anxious myself when I first started DIY.

Your numbers above are correct for a 10ml 3mg mix of 20% Vanilla flavor using 50/50 50mg Nicotine. Now if you wanted to mix 20ml of the same but only use 10% flavoring, your numbers should look like the following:

Nicotine - 1.2ml
PG - 7.4ml
VG - 9.4ml
Vanilla - 2ml

This would result in 20ml of 50/50 PG/VG 10% Vanilla flavoring @ 3mg of nicotine.

Try this using your calculator to see your numbers agree, they should and if so, you can be confident you are getting the correct results. :)

Thank you.
I remember when I was ordering flavours it says that it is recomended 10-15% to mix it, do you think that 10% is enough if I am mixing only single flavoured juices?

manhunter please be sure to shake the shit out of your nicotine JUST before mixing as nic. layers. Shake your flavorings as well just before mixing.

I always start on the low end when trying flavors out for the first time. It's easier to just add a little more if needed than to try and dilute it further and still remain within your desired ratios. That's just me of course, you are free to try whatever you think will work best for you, that's part of the beauty in DIY. :)

Take good notes while mixing even if you think you will remember later ... I had to learn the hard way. ;)

Sure, I will create excel file and detail all my recipes in it.
First mix I will make 9ml with 10% flavour, if I need more it will be easy to go 5 or 10% up, that will make 0.5 or 1ml more

cola recipe.png

hi all, this is my first recipe, I did three flavors, cola, vanilla, and apple.
I use same recipe for all of them, just change flavors.
I shake shit out of nicotine and flavors as well :D
Now I need your honest opinion on those recipes and what you think how long it needs to settle before vaping?

Those flavors probably only need 24hrs, if that even.
Some Vanillas take a bit longer tho.
The only Vanillas I can really taste stand alone are DIYFS French Vanilla (5%).
And INW Shisha Vanilla 3%.
So depending on the brand you might have to go higher, and then steep for a week.

PG/VG ratio? What tank are you using? Thicker juice wicks slower(more VG).

Some of those cheap pens will only run 80/20VG, or maybe 70/30.
Think your getting dry hits from not wicking fast enough.
Once the wick burns it will taste that way forever...
And we have a winner :)
I got new pen, my liquid taste great and I like it :)
My wife is using it all day and it is great, problem was in cheap pen...
