DIY flavor concentrates

Anyone use the flavor apprentice flavors? Looking for strength percentages on them. Nothing on the website or the bottles?

A lot of DIY people use TFA - I use a few occasionally, but percentages vary depending on the overall percentage of flavoring in your mix. There used to be an excel spreadsheet floating around, but I've lost the link. What flavors are you specifically talking about?

There's a discussion about this in the DIY forum that might help:

Found the chart: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1agXdua8bEp8MV4z1mn3qX4AXCS4P0RxQXcy2lDa7ccc/pub?gid=21

Hi, welcome to VU.

It's kind of different for everyone. Some of their flavorings I use as little as 0.5%, some up to 4%. Then other mixers might use them as high A 10%. Kind of depends on your taste buds. There's a chart floating around somewhere I'm sure someone will post it up. Did you have specific flavors in mind?

Moving this to the DIY area for more help.

Green apple is a way too strong flavor and a am trying to find a balance on that one but mostly fruit flavors. I had a friend say it was harsh to vape a pomegranate one I made. Mixed it at 10%

What flavors do you have?
I usually start 5% with most fruits if used with Vanillas and/or Creams.
Might have to go even higher if using a ton of other flavors tho.
But stand alone could be fine at 3% even.
Orange Cream can go up to 10%.

You will usually have to find your own "sweet spot" after playing around some.
Most recommendations are based on one individuals taste buds, equipment, vape style, watts, etc.

Those charts crack me up.
Blueberry Wild 15%? (I was using 10% for awhile and now it's usually at 5%)
Citrus Punch 10% (Must be some really tart shit there)
Those guys must be using Vivi Nova's:rolleyes:

The google one is even funnier.
Banana Ripe 15%
ROFLMAO

Cmon @Teresa P do you actually use those charts yourself?

Hardly ever. Maybe as a reference for something I've never tried, but I usually judge by the smell before anything. I've learned the hard way on some of the charts, and a few were actually pretty accurate. But I certainly don't use them as a fail proof guide. Taste is always subjective.

I like tpa a lot. But is use them as supplement flavors more often and not stand alones or mix just all tpa.

I love how kiwi FA and kiwi tpa works together.

I also love how strawberry FA and strawberry ripe tpa point towards each other in a mix.

All of which I rock tpa flavors at 2-4% with 4 being the high mark and the norm is 2%.

Taste is subjective and what you may find too strong, may be too weak for someone else.
I still think that 3% is a good concentrate to start with.
Besides a few exception like French Vanilla Deluxe, Cinnamon Spice, EM, some tobaccos, etc..

With TFA I test at a median 5%, unless I've been advised otherwise. My goal with testing isn't to nail down a perfect single flavor percentage. It's to determine a flavor's potency or lack thereof. If it's too strong, or too weak, that's fine. My tests aren't finished mixes. Where a flavor is at 5% tells me what I need to know about how to balance it in mixes.
