DIY virgin - need some help

I'm going to give the whole dyi thing a try but I'm needing some advice. Here is the recipe I'm going to make but I have some question

1. I am planning on doing an 80/20 vg/pg blend. I'm ordering 100 mg/ml nicotine. Should I order it in a pg or vg base if I'm wanting this ratio? I'm assuming pg but didn't want to screw this up

2. Assuming I'm correct, the nicotine with a pg base will be the smaller amount but won't the flavoring change my ratio as well? Or not enough to really matter?

By the way I think I will be steering clear of tfa flavors. From what I've read, they are bad for you. I'll probably go with Capella until I start branching out

Any suggestions on flavoring options? Am I on the right track with how to go about getting my ratio

I stay away from TFA because they're weak and have a funky underlining taste. Haven't heard if they're bad for us tho. My go to flavorings are Inawera, Flavorah, Totally Wicked Gold Standard, and Hangsen (occasionally).

I haven't heard anything bad about Capella?

No need to avoid TFA, nothing bad about them unless you're trying to avoid diacetyl, diketones, acetoin, and the like. And the Flavors that do contain traces of those ingredients are labeled on vendor websites (usually). Other brands contain the same things in select flavors. If it's a matter of taste, that's different.
Download a juice calculator. If you're running Windows I highly recommend ejuicemeup by Breaktru. Easy to use.
Nic base is a personal preference. I prefer pg based nic because VG is a pita to work with. Your flavors are usually in a pg base, which does count as part of the total pg percentage in your mix. Same goes for vg.
The above mentioned flavorings are awesome, but FlavourArt is a very good one to add to your list of options, very concentrated and goes a long way.

That's why I went with a 80/20, that way after I add flavoring and what not I'll be right around a 70/30. But then again I've brand new to this.

I guess it may depend on what your definition of "bad" is?

There's a reason some of their flavors have a "caution".

Ask anything you like, there are plenty of experienced mixers here who are glad to help.

I use VG based nic but at 100mg, it's pretty much a matter of preference. Unless you are mixing at 18MG or something, the amount shouldn't effect your target PG/VG ratio even after the flavoring is added. I've never heard of TFA being "bad"... sure they have some terrible flavors but IMO they have some excellent ones too. As a matter of safety, if you go to their site, the "bad" or potentially bad flavors are labelled as such. (which is better than other brands which have no disclaimers at all)
