I am, or used to be, a happy owner of a Therion 133 MOD. This was my first DNA device, thus i am not that familiar with its sophisticated features and the Escribe software...:(
earlier today and whilst my MOD was loaded with a pair of VTC5 batteries which were almost fully charged, suddenly, when i went for a pufg, the battery measure bar of the display emptied and I was prompted to check my batteries. I immediately removed them and replaced them with another pair of LG HG2 which were fully charged. When I clicked the fire button so as to start the device and vape, the “lost vape” startup logo appeared and the MOD immediately turned off. No matter how many times I clicked the fire button the same matter occurred.

I tried a number of ways so as to turn it on and have noted the following:

- If I press the fire button extensively (about 5 seconds) or with the up or down buttons, the device will turn on. As soon as I disengage the up or down button it will immediately prompt me to check the battery. As soon as I disengage and the fire button, the device will turn off immediately

- If I press the fire button extensively together with up & down buttons (about 5 seconds) i.e. all three buttons, the device will turn on and as soon as I disengage the up & down buttons it will indicate that it is shorted (if an atomizer is installed) or to check the atomizer (if none is installed). say that its is prompt me to check the battery. As soon as I disengage the fire button as well the device will turn off immediately

when I came back home, I connected the device to escribe and was connected without any problems whatsoever, however, the battery meter appeared as totally empty and it was not charging up...
I am uploading a picture of the screen whilst the device was connected to the escribe. it appears as if the batteries are not recognised or something?14836455774161394972770.jpg 14836456238391192503368.jpg
I cannot comprehend what has gone wrong with the MOD as it has been working properly and prior this malfunctioned it was just stationed at the desk of my office. It has never been dropped and Batteries have always been inserted in a gently manner and there has never been any mistakes of inverted polarity.

any ideas? I feel extreme frustrated with this situation as the device is less than a month and a half old...:cuss2:

I'm no electrical engineer or escribe expert but my VT133 is having battery meter problems. Evolv diagnosed it as a faulty daughter board.

Under tools in eScribe should be an option for both a soft and hard reboot. If that fails you might have to get the board serviced by Evolv.

I had the same issue on my Finder 167. I believe it's a problem with the board. If you hook up the mod to Escribe and then set the battery type to Power Supply and then Upload Settings to Device it will probably work. You can't operate the mod that way because you will have no battery protection (it won't cut off when the batteries are low/discharged because it's meant to be used when you are using a power supply). It is just a test to tell you whether the mod still functions. If it works in Power Supply, then it's probably an issue with the battery balancer/monitoring circuit. At least it will give you an idea what the potential problem may be. Good Luck!

Cheers,
Steve
