DNA200 Mods

If I run strictly in power mode is there any real benefit for a vaper like me owning a DNA200 device? I get it that they are costly which whatever, I spend more on worse and this would be more for of a convenience thing for me.

My curiosity stems from my recent purchase of the RX200 Reuleaux mod. Sure its good for what I paid for it. I however am finding myself more and more annoyed with the delay in firing time when I first pick up the mod. I managed to flood my one of my Billow v2's twice this weekend since I didn't wait for the delay before I starting drawing on it. I've mentioned this in a couple other threads and it seems like that's just how it is with the most recent firmware upgrade. Best way for me to explain it would be that it goes into a "sleep mode" of sorts if left unvaped for a few minutes. It does not do this if I wait like 30 seconds to a minute or however long it takes before the screen goes to "sleep" I do not experience this delay in either of my 2 IPV mods with the exact same atty's etc.

If I were to get a Reuleaux DNA200 I'm assuming I would not experience this "problem". But is there really any point spending dna200 money on something like that if I have no interest in temp control? I know there are way cheaper options out there but I really like the feel of the Reuleaux.

IMHO, the DNA 200 exceeds in TC, due to the ability to customize it via computer. In regular power mode, when watching the display, I do see it starting at 0 W, jumping really quickly to 36.6 W and to my final 47.5 W setting. I don't notice any delay though.

If you never use tc, the DNA is still the most accurate mod on the market.
--BUT-- THAT SAID:
It really shines in TC all the customizations are done in tc mode. I find to get the most out of it,its at its pinnacle with ss in tc mode.
If you were staying in power mode, it is still a great performer, very accurate-But there is no way to preheat or blast kanthal with a power burst like the sx350j and there is a half second climb not bad, but noticeable. I find imho, the sx350j or a hexohm(oklt-20) to be better suited for non-tc applications

Ya its like a .4s to .6s delay before any of my atomizers get power to them after it sits for a while. I have the IPV mini and Ipv3 li and neither have the weird delay. Other people have mentioned the same. Like I said its like it has to wake up or some shit.

If you're not using TC I can't see the point of getting a DNA.

I read somewhere that there was a firmware upgrade put out for that mod. I do t have one so I can't be certain but that could be your answers.

What is it in Escribe that intimidates you? There's a good tutorial by PBusardo in his series of DNA200 videos that's all about the Escribe software only.

true...after a bit i will sit down and play with it...right now the only temperature coils i have are the prebuilt kangers and aromamizers in ni200... those are absolutely great with the rx200...the intimidation comes from lack of knowledge of all the stainless steel curves and adjustments to those curves that you may have to do...will just have to take my time to educate myself with stainless steel ...thats why i got the dna 200, to force myself to get more educated with stainless steel

Mine came with the 1.07 so it appears to be up to date firmware wise. Its not that I wont use this mod it just that I got so used to how my other ones performed. I do like the feel of it and its more than I really expected quality wise for how cheap they give these away for.

Im hitting .17ohm at 120 watts now on efusion dna200. Ive never vaped in tc mode in this or any mod (also have rdna40 which i never used tc on), still the best vape buy i ever made, freakin love this thing. Thought the lipo cells would annoy me since i only used 18650s before but to be honest i dont miss em. Dont miss the mechs, the mech boxes, dont miss the hexohm.... still got em, but the efusion benched them all. And this is coming from someone who was exclusive to mechs for a couple years.

Well not necessarily derail, but ya I think what it sounds like I need to do is get into temp control. I gave it a try with ni200 and I hated working with it but it sounds like i could do SS

Ni200 was miserable, ss is almost exactly like working with Kanthal

I never liked Ni200 or Ti wire. However, I love SS wire.

Even Smok has a new SS replacement coil (TF-STC2) for the TFV4 now.

I couldn't stand the ti taste, no matter what I did.
Ni200,had a good flavor and I was ok with vaping it, but working with it was a royal pain in the ass.I ended up piffing about 300ft of nickel wire and a few hundred feet of kanthal. Switched everything to ss other than my 22g RDA builds.

That's where the DNA and escribe shine.
Steam-enigine.org has a running list of wires for tc with the information needed to make any of them run on the DNA.
You can just Change the variable form the wire or upload an excel file, whichever you prefer.
I like 316l stainless only because its the easiest to find, I just changed the number for the wire and done,
The board already has the ni200info onboard

I noticed no one has mentioned The Lavabox. My local vape shop had them in for a small amount of time and I got to play with one. Very customizable interface. Even has different colored 'shell' pieces you can change out to customize the box itself. Very nice feel in the hands and high quality. Goes up to 200w and TC. Upgradable firmware.

Has anyone tried one yet?

It's definitely something I want in the future. I just want to delve more into TC first, awaiting the arrival of my first TC unit currently.
