Do I need an extra battery?

Hi people, I got my setup today, a segelei 30 watt with a nautilus mini, and a samsung 25r.

I have used it for a few hours, and the battery indicator seems to have not dropped, so I am not sure if the 2500MAH will be enough for me all day, or to get a spare just incase, and to rotate so I can use while I am charging.

Glad you seem to be liking your new gear!

Especially as I was one of the folks here that suggested the Sigelei Mini and the Samsung 25R.

As vapers, spares are ALWAYS good to have. After All, its not like we can go to the corner gas station for a new 18650 battery or other vaping goodies.

Depending on your vaping habits and power settings, the one battery you do have could very well last you all day so you just have to plug it in to charge before you go to bed.

But an extra battery is a great thing to have especially if you have a very long day and are vaping a lot so it is nice to have an extra on hand to swap out.

BTW, like I have said, I just plug in my own mini before I go to bed.

But when I first got it, just to be sure, when I plugged it in to charge, I also put the mod into a big, deep glass bowl just to be sure that the charging circuit worked properly.

Being paranoid by nature, I would suggest you do the same for the first night or two. If nothing bad happens by then, chances are slim to none that nothing ever will.

Unless you vape a whole lot the 25 r will last you a whole day on that device without a problem. But yes you should have spare batteries. It is not safe to charge your batteries unattended. If something goes wrong with your charger and it doesn't shut off you could very well end up with a fire. That you wouln't know about if your sleeping. Besides if you go on a night out with the boys after a few beers you would be surprised how fast you can drain a battery !!!

My single batteries generally last me one tankful (3-4 mls) at 18-30 watts. A good rule of thumb is to have a battery for each tankful you think you'll vape in a day!

I almost forgot, do not carry a spare battery in your pocket with whatever else may be in there.

There has been more than one guy who has ended up with singed "Naughty Bits" because a battery came in contact with keys and whatnot to form a closed circuit.

I use a standard pharmacy issue pill bottle that turns out to be the perfect size to carry an 18650 battery.

I got a lot of them being an old fart that takes lots of pills.

For you just go to your local pharmacy, show them the battery and ask them nicely for a bottle just big enough to hold it.

If they are nice, they will just give you one. If they are pricks, they will charge you like 25 cents.

So, In theory, should be OK charging it like that? I bought a seperate charger with built in protection that shuts off as as soon as the battery is charged, but Li-on batteries are everywhere, such as phones. People don't seem to be so cautious with them, so why these batteries?

Also, thanks uncle RJ for the recommendation, it is great.

Also, there is no worry of my vaping more on a night out with the boys, I am a recovering alcoholic lol.

It's not the batteries, it is some of the devices being sold that use them.

A few of them like the Cloupor have a history of quality control issues or design flaws or both so when you go to charge them via the internal USB charger, some of them freaking catch fire.

While a lot of other mods can be charged safely, the ones that catch fire makes people doubt the others.
