I hate getting into Politics. Which for the most part I will not. Even without the current political climate, are YOU prepared if something happens? War, Rioting, Shootings, Looting, Angry 'people' doing unthinkable things? Or, an EMP happens?

I am preparing, obsessively about my Bug Out Bag and EMP preparations. Don't take this lightly, folks. We will definitely see rioting and looting; probably worse. And it will happen before years end, possibly this month, next month, November - if not, in January. Do you want to be caught off guard? Do you believe that the the United States is all sun and roses right now? Take the hint and DO something about it. Don't be blind to what is happening now. Don't be ignorant and say that you'll be fine just the way things are. Be prepared for anything. In fact, you should have been prepared previously. For example, when your electricity is off for a period of time in your home; don't you feel lost? That's nothing compared to what may very well happen around the nation in so many different ways. So many States, so many people, and so little defense.

If an EMP DOES happen, anything you have will be toast. Anything electric - including your vehicle. No lights, no cell phones, no mods, batteries - nothing. Banks will be closed, meaning you will have no access to cash. Google it. And, as for a Bug out and Bug in, be prepared to run or lock down in your home. Something IS coming. Can you feel the air around you? It's filled with hatred and it isn't going away any time soon. Call me paranoid, but if it does happen, don't you want to be somewhat prepared?

ALL of this has been planned for the last several years.
Research yourself. Educate yourself. Prepare yourself.

I'm a former US Army Ranger and of course I have a bug out bag. It's not for impending doom you are suggesting, rather for emergencies more like weather or natural disaster.

I have weapons of course and I'm all about survival, but the events you are suggesting are highly unlikely in our society. It would take a disasterous lack of national security for any of that to happen.

I'm not suggesting you are paranoid, but there might be some issues you should consult a professional about. I'm not trying to be mean, but really dude. You need to talk with someone not as paranoid as yourself.

BTW, how would an EMP render all batteries useless? I'm no electrical engineer, but I don't understand how a power source such as a battery would fail if it is not connected to an electrical device.

EMP has a very limited range (check fall-off of electro-magnetism) and that's with a detonation at altitude.

Lil' Kimmy may eventually lob a little one but that'll get us out here on the Wet Coast.
I suspect he's in for a home grown surprise if he gets to that point though.

@SMOKIE Now THAT's what I'M talking about. But they're all ARs, AKs and Rifles. You must have been somewhere and took a shot. Pun intended. Everyone, IMHO, should have something to defend themselves and family. Even if you don't believe in having a weapon in the home with children, put a hand gun up in a safe place. Just inside the attic door if need be. In an air vent above your door or something. But keeping one handy by the bed and other locations in the home, to me, is security. We are nearly as ready as your photo, Smokie

But that's not all. Non perishable food, clean drinking water in 5-30 gallon containers with a few drops of bleach will keep for a long time. Frozen meat and other items. I mean, we even have a stockpile of just beans if it gets down to that.

As far as bugging out, here is just one video of the backpacks we have. The do have lumbar support which I definitely need. The backpack is large and about 5lbs, but all of the compartments mean a lot. There are backpacks that only weigh ounces. Only carry what you need to SURVIVE. No shampoo, lotion, makeup, etc. If you're running for your life, just take what you feel is necessary. Anyway, here's the backpack. We are an open carry State and firearms are prevalent here and hugely popular. With regard to your personal comments about me, I'm not going to go there with you. I'm somewhat prepared for most anything. I'm happy with those that are not. They might end up with a Darwin Award, or not. Either way, I won't feel bad knowing that they and those they love are dying.
