Hi Whiskey. I'm NOT selling back packs. I have no affiliation with that website AT ALL. I was using the website as an example since me and my husband have those back packs. And the video, again was an example. I'm not forcing anything on anyone. I apologize if you thought otherwise.
You edited your post? Any how , no harm done , good luck with your bag...LOL

In a therm-o-nuke exchange the living will envy the dead....And on a brighter note,if the sun were to send a Lil'Flare then We would fall back to the 1800s and use steam power....Z

No, they won't. That's why a person needs to be able to care for themselves.

Besides, police have families too. If the sky were to fall, so to speak, I think they'd take care of their own.

Well, that's what I meant between the lines and it came out totally wrong. You are spon on. Thanks for the clarification and reality check.

Sorry, I haven't eaten all day until now (6pm had a half of a sandwich) and the Beotch is in the house tonight (me). I'm tired, got the shakes, my eyes hurt, can't think clearly, yada-yada. Sorry folks.

In all seriousness tho, Some of the 'Prepper' stuff looks freaking cool... Which is why I'm glad I'm broke or I'd be buying up all those nifty toys to play around with. :p

I think a happy medium can be had. Without going to the extreme of things it would do many people good to be 'prepared' in a sense of being even somewhat self reliant. The power goes out for a few minutes and people lose their damn minds. A little snow falls and everyone scrambles to the store to get eggs, milk and bread. Perhaps the ultimate survival food is french toast?

Cracks me up for a couple of reasons, one I'm in my mid 30's and done my fair share of dating. Chicks these days can barely cook a microwave pizza and many guys are no better so with all these non cooks what they hell are they doing with ingredients? lol.

Second are all the wimpy or out of shape people which reminds me of that pic of the fat guy holding the assault rifle. Prepared for the worst but huffing and puffing after one flight of stairs, about the truth.

Sadly many people these days can't even change a flat tire, gear or no gear they're going to be food and fodder. I had an ex (was dating at the time) freaking out because she lost power for a couple days (the well stopped working) and had a bunch of kids living with her. In terms of flushing the toilet, she was complaining they couldn't use the toilet. I was like you know these aren't high tech devices right? Simply obtain water in some jugs, put one of the jugs in the back of the tank to take up volume and reduce the amount needed to flush - fill the back of the tank and flush. Or simply pour enough down the bowl and it will flush. Basics.

If nothing else bob's can double as camping gear. Go camping, have some fun. Keep it stocked for emergencies regardless what they may be. Another side to that is all these folks going out and stocking up with a fancy pack and supplies and then come to find out they have a pack that weighs 80-100lbs. Are they prepared to hump a ruck that size? The last thing many have likely carried with anything close to that weight was a suitcase with wheels when they rolled it to the trunk to go to the airport. Or a bookbag from school all of 50ft from their locker to their class.

Toting a ruck any distance with any significant weight sucks. That's all there is to it. Regardless of how many load adjusters and pads and gizmo's, it sucks. Even easier to overload when you have people who are unfamiliar with it then see how easy it is to add more and more pockets to things like molle style rucks. Yea, ok, load up 6-7,000 cu in of space and the average person will be bugging out like a snail, wheezing by the time they hit their mailbox. lol. Fond memories of boot camp and soldiers who were ordered to retain all their gear from beginning to end of the trail, chucking gear out of their packs like the titanic was sinking lmfao. Can't see average civilians being much different, 5min into it with the pack open chucking gear they deem 'useless' due to weight.

I won't be bugging out, if "they" can get me in my home then oh well, for sure I won't be going alone to meet the Maker. That said, I do have a "get home" bag in my truck...

During one of the early predicted local scares not too long ago, forget which one it was, a neighbor lady went out to stock up on supplies if shtf, and with a satisfied air she proudly showed me several boxes full of frozen microwave dinners...
And a generator, and a large tank of fuel for it? o_O

I hate getting into Politics. Which for the most part I will not. Even without the current political climate, are YOU prepared if something happens? War, Rioting, Shootings, Looting, Angry 'people' doing unthinkable things? Or, an EMP happens?

I am preparing, obsessively about my Bug Out Bag and EMP preparations. Don't take this lightly, folks. We will definitely see rioting and looting; probably worse. And it will happen before years end, possibly this month, next month, November - if not, in January. Do you want to be caught off guard? Do you believe that the the United States is all sun and roses right now? Take the hint and DO something about it. Don't be blind to what is happening now. Don't be ignorant and say that you'll be fine just the way things are. Be prepared for anything. In fact, you should have been prepared previously. For example, when your electricity is off for a period of time in your home; don't you feel lost? That's nothing compared to what may very well happen around the nation in so many different ways. So many States, so many people, and so little defense.

If an EMP DOES happen, anything you have will be toast. Anything electric - including your vehicle. No lights, no cell phones, no mods, batteries - nothing. Banks will be closed, meaning you will have no access to cash. Google it. And, as for a Bug out and Bug in, be prepared to run or lock down in your home. Something IS coming. Can you feel the air around you? It's filled with hatred and it isn't going away any time soon. Call me paranoid, but if it does happen, don't you want to be somewhat prepared?

ALL of this has been planned for the last several years.
Research yourself. Educate yourself. Prepare yourself.
That's all I'm going to say about THAT! (F. Gump). - for now.

i often refer to my 'bug out bag',, it has everything my car bag and the set up in the house has. my equipment stays in a 'large make up/to go bag'.............when i think of 'bug out' ,,2 events are on my mind............weather as i live where hurricanes like to visit .. the other is ma&pa,, they are old and live about 500 miles away.. and i have had to pack fast to get to hospitals before. back then i could grab cigs at any gas station,, now that i vape i have to plan ahead a bit more.

Not everyone will get it..haha
Yea pretty much lol.

Wish mre's won't so damned expensive, they make for solid rations. During basic the joke was on us. No knives allowed, confiscated on site. Here's an mre, enjoy lmfao. I think it was a question of how hungry are you and how determined are you to get into a bag that falls just shy as doubling for body armor when closed. The real punchline was when finally getting it open the entree turned out to be 'ham', that big slab of salt brine drenched fatty spam hunk :blech:

Usually around $7-10 a meal even when bought by the case and more times than not they're replicas, not packaged the same, lacking the 'rock or something' device, etc. No telling how long they've already been sitting around, extended shelf life is great unless it's close to expiration. Not exactly weight friendly for the long haul but not too bad for shorter trips.

@Synphul There are poly weaved ones that are of a decent size that weight only ounces.
@Rossum Think solar. Yeah, the home ones are expensive but what alternative would you have. Also, mid to small solar chargers are effective for other things as well. There's one the size of a car battery on Amazon. $$$, $$$$.

@Trixy true, there are lighter weight ones. Or some people like to dismantle the packs and discard unnecessary parts of it. The lighter ones that weigh only a few ounces likely have far less food in them. The military versions (3 course) are around 1200-1300cal packs. Some tradeoffs, lighter packages or less things less weight, heavier weights for packaging that can get dunked in water and not ruin the food.

Part of the weight comes from food that's already hydrated, no need to locate potable water. For types of food that are lighter there's less weight to tote but then need to have a reliable source of potable water to reconstitute it. Always a tradeoff in different pack items. I suppose in a true survival situation a single mre could last someone days instead of one meal. People make it around a month with far less than 1000 cal a day during events like "naked and afraid".

Thank you both! I'll be sure to check out all kinds of BOBs and thank you Alby for the MRE link! Sounds like a great price. I'm buying for 2 but you can't put a price on your life. Will probably purchase for more than 3 days. We each have a filtration system.
