Dry hit. Need help.

sigelei 30w mini
kanger subtank mini

I have a dry hit problem that I can't seem to fix. I've had the subtank and sigelei a little over a month now. First few weeks were flawless, no problems.. I mainly used the RBA deck, re-wicked several times and didn't have issues. These past few days have been terrible. I can't really blame the problem on the wick. I've literally changed the wick over 40 times while also adjusting it if I was getting dry hits. I also tried out different coils but doesn't seem to help. I've tried several wicking methods such as pancake etc. I've been making sure that the wick touches the deck without blocking the juice channels since day 1. I'm usually vaping around 10w on a 1.2ohm coil. I get one decent hit and rest is dry hit after dry hit. I've worked on it so much cause the problem just irked me. How can it work just right and suddenly I can't fix it to save my life no matter what I do?

Almost seems like the juice isn't going through the channels at all. There were a few times where the cotton was just dried up. I ordered the new RBA plus deck so I'm waiting for that to come in. I decided to use the occ coils til that arrives. I've only wicked the OCC coil once, but I just got the worst dry hit. I don't even want mess with it. I'm not sure what I did wrong but I'll admit, I could have improperly wicked that one since it was my first time with that coil.

Any ideas what else could cause this problem? I just feel like something else is off.

Some of the older RBA decks had tiny channels that need widening with a dremel!

That's true. It's why I ordered the new deck cause I don't have access to a dremel or able to drill the holes. It was working just fine before though, so I don't know why the juice channels aren't enough to do the job anymore. Using the same juices. 30/70 mix

Yup must be your wicking. I cut my wicks so they only just touch the deck, and make sure they're pushed away from the channels!

I wish I had photos of all the times I wicked it. I've spent hours, different techniques, followed videos and pictures just being extra careful. I've wicked before, its not hard. I've tried cutting the wicks where they just touch the deck too while being pushed away from channels, I poked holes in cotton etc.. something else is up. I've wicked it several times before with no problems. It dry hits instantly and it stays that way. This deck isn't supposed to be this sensitive. very few people would put up with this. If nothing else can cause this then I guess I'm screwed.

I have four subtanks. One of them is new, and I keep forgetting which deck I haven't fixed the channels in - and, yes, I get dry hits. I also have a new RBA deck coming tomorrow, so I'll be interested to see the improvement!

I rip the cheap coils out with Forceps, & yell, Never Again. :D Thanks to my Fast Tech Tackle box, I rebuild them things. I make them faster to glow, less watts. Just a Hobby:cool:
