eBay wooden box mod - won't show the insides?

So, I'm looking for a cheap wooden 18650 box mod, found this on eBay, looks great eh?




Just this:

this is a wooden custom handmade box mod made in the USA designed for the 18650 (not included) or you can use with the RCR123's for 6 volt but is only designed for the 18650 has a 510 connection but does not come with tank. comes as stand alone box only no batteries or chargers. NOTE each one is different as they are all handmade no one wood is the same so no one will have a mod just like yours check out our other listings for different woods and designs

this box mod is made out of a combination of zebrawood, walnut, ash and may vary slightly in combination of colors

No inside pics...nor any clear description of what's actually in it.
Hmmmm. That's a no-go for me. For all I know it's an empty box or some Chinese import from a USA seller..

So, I messaged the seller, I thought I was being pretty reasonable. This is our exchange....

I'm bummed because it's a really attractive mod at a great price...but no way I'm buying a homemade wooden box mod that I can't see what's in it. Most modders are PROUD of their builds and show them off.

Well, they lost a sale...good luck with that....

I still can't find a wood box mod for under $40....bah.
I can get a Vamo v5 for $32, but not a wood box with some damn wires?

If I had the workspace or the tools, I'd make one myself, but I have neither.

Yeah, that is why I asked....I've NEVER seen a legit box mod where the modder wasn't HAPPY to show it off.

Right on eBay, there is this guy who makes box mods and uses black epoxy to slather the insides... fugly as hell. But, he shows it.

To think, a year ago, I could have bought either a DzNutz or Shan Mods simple 18650 box mod for about $45.

Now that is all gone, it's all $$$ DNA/china chips.

Maybe I'll email Shan and see if she'll make me an olde skool mod....she's hella cool.

He's probably drop shipping the sale. So he doesn't have the mod to take pic's of. All he has are the stock pic's from the wholesaler. I would pass on this. Not worth the grief.

Ya, that occurred to me too. The pics are just too...generic.

From the discription...

It is wood.

It has a 510 connection.

It will hold an 18650 battery.

And it is $25.

Says nothing about having a battery box inside or wires for that matter.

Sounds screwy to me at best.

Add another $25 and on a good day get one of the Hana clones.

Got wires and everything on the inside!

I would buy exclusively only from a merchant who has nothing to hide. The transparency is the respect he has for the client. It is very ugly buy an article blindfolded, luckily not all on e-Bay think that way ...

I agree...if you had the skills for it, the tools and an area to work in.
Not to mention that the wood and parts would cost that much alone. Not talking about a rat-shack mod here.

Don't own any wood working tools at all either, just a $18 HF rotary tool for atties and stuff.
I also live in an urban 1BR apt that is all carpeted...not the place for bits of wood. ;-)
