Right, nothing has been changed. Tires are standard, about 28k miles on this set.

The truck is 13 years old. I'm the original owner, and have never been pulled over in it before.

Well I haven't been here much today either, but I have several excellent excuses: 1) new cellphone; 2) Twitter; 3) bashing the shit out of the FDfuckingA on Twitter using said new cellphone. And a wonderful time was had by all. I had gotten away from all the political shit when I departed ECF, including the political vape shit on Twitter, but with my marvelous new toy, I am BAAAAAACK with a vengeance! Screaming for revolution and useless motherfuckers' JOBS!

I hope that doesnt trick fuck me. I work 160 hours during my two weeks for straight time pay but I get two paychecks out of that 160 hours. If Obama fucked shit up, it could mean I will lose my 14 & 14 schedule and have to go back to 7&7. That would suck.

I got that same email from the White House. I haven't checked it though as I'm quite frankly, exhausted. And I was salary as a teacher. We didn't get paid for the additional 4-8 hours a day we worked, nor the (often) 16 hours on weekends.

Anybody got a link to any specifics about it? We depend on OT around here; my husband gets 7.5hrs OT every week, except the weeks that have a holiday, which I cuss everytime it happens -- xmas and new years are the WORST! Gotta have those 40 hrs actually on the clock to get OT, or it's just all straight time. :mad:

It will vary from state to state because the Federal regulations are the bare minimum allowed. Some states (but rarely in the south) mandate higher standards/qualifications for overtime pay. Company policies and union agreements can also effect how an individual employee is paid overtime.

Unions have little to say about anything in the deep south, except for certain very specific trades/industries -- for regular workers, unions don't win any awards or followers down here. If you even say "union" in most shops, 10 people will spit on the floor! If not 20! :D

My husband is the hardest worker in his plant, by far... I'm sure that's why he got 2 raises in 2014 and another in 2015, and why they allow him the regular 7.5hrs OT every week, plus any additional that's necessary. And if they run a shift on a Saturday -- rare, but occasional -- he's always invited, because he makes sure the line always has product to run (he's a forklift operator/stock/dock/shipping man), and makes sure that SHIT GETS DONE AS IT SHOULD.

Just don't want that idiot in DC fucking things up any worse than he has already.

(Moueix) Well, I haven't changed my speedo, transmission, rear gear or tires and not only didn't it look it, but it didn't feel it, almost to the point of impossibilty considering the distance of that stop sign to those tracks, and the known acceleration rate of this vehicle. So nothing different here than yesterday.

Once I did indeed pull a Hollywood stop, but he was good at finding minor fix it problems and would let me off with a warning

Kinda - the current regs were put in place in 2004 and were a serious setback for the working class, especially in right to work states

I swear to God, I throw money at them while they eat the lunch that I bought, so they can save their per diem for booze and drugs. That's WAY beyond the state minimum. ALMOST as good as welfare.

You wouldn't want to do this. It's only more dirty, than it is dangerous.

Much like construction or iron work, it's a set workforce that works for whoever has the work. I have to compete against union shops for the labor force. Which means I have to offer union scale plus, to compensate for some benefits they don't get (and mostly don't at the union shops either, unless they are doing 40 hour work weeks regularly).

But, the price for a good guy is the price. Union shops get all the BIG union projects, they are mostly union customers with labor contracts that require all vendors be union as well. And we non-union guys have a lil better shot at the smaller individually owned plants.

But yeah, there was not a thing untrue about any of that.
