Over here they just gave corporations a big tax cut and 'some' working class a small tax cut...
Well the final vote is not in but it is going to pass, it is a party imperative. Lobbyist dollars have been paid and they must come thru for their contributors.

I dont buy that Bob. I kinda see what Trump been saying on taxes. Our corporate tax is the highest in the world. That is why we lost 12 million jobs during Obama's reign. Even Burger King moved its corporate office to Canada to get away from our ultra high tax rate. We bring the tax rate down and corporations start coming back to our shores which means more and better jobs for many.

Fucking "A", I own several properties in Ecuador so I can get the fuck OUT of here ASAP if or when shit hits the fan.

It's not worth owning a business when I'm paying more in taxes here than any other country in the WORLD...!!

If our lawmakers had a single working brain cell among the entire group, they would tax HIGH those who outsource jobs, and give rock-bottom taxes to those who hire American. Just call it the Outsource Tariff. :) (ETA: considering Trump's very obvious prejudices, I'm shocked he hasn't thought of this already!)

On WVA, read that the Governor was calling out the national guard to fight crime in Huntington.

Would not surprise me. Becoming more and more adverse to folks actually working and being paid decent wages for it in WV. Take into account usual Just Over Broke (jobs) require 45 minutes to an hour of driving one way to punch into. Forget having a genuine career any longer, those dried up ten to fifteen years ago and became you got on for who you know and/or blow.

Route 21 & I 77 both lead out of state so WV can export workers/soldiers, I 50 & I 64 do as well. I kid you not when I tell you the disabilities board stated there were janitorial jobs open in our area, and our area to them meant the surrounding 8 states or so. Any of that you find here local has 200 or more in line ahead of you. That was all they would suggest for me to do, light janitorial, and also tossed out a list of restrictions on me as long as my arms put together. But "oh no, I'm not disabled or unfit for work".

I think when I re-apply next time a better chance at that might be had, if I even bother. Fucker Government erm, Federal Government has pissed in my Cheerios way too much for a lifetime. First they reject me wanting to serve, then I come home and go hard at working and have a mild stroke, go through VA Occupational rehab services because I'm thinking just maybe I might have some quirks in my mind. Go work at a sheltered work shop for the disabled, move to WV with my wife who finally talks me into filing for disability and the Fucker Government then says fuck you to me. Yep, pissed far too much in mine.

Aw well, such is life. I'm gonna hush as it matters no end, folks already know and see the writing.

We did get tax cuts but these cuts were a package of gifts for pharisees and corporations, not those carrying the can. In a few years we can carriers will need to pay in more tax. I'm kind of holding my breath awaiting the coming hyperinflation. The central bank here has kept the interest rates at or very near zero for way too long and yet all the while continues loaning the Fed government money at usury. "Oh boy ain't we got fun!?" Sure as spades won't be eating turnips any more either. Thank you Agent Orange Erm, Roundup.

In short what I foresee heading down the walk is Capital will consume/devour itself. It cannot/will not offer Labor better wages yet still demands labor do the work. Labor is stuck over a barrel as Capital has tasted automation, AI, and has no qualms in deploying it over human Labor. With all that extra Production Capital will find itself with Surplus Product as Labor is now unemployed and unable to consume product, ergo Capital will need to "eat" the costs of storage or halt Production and scale back to a Production To Spec model, which is too costly as anyone can become Capital now as Technology continues to cheapen in its costs, and ergo so does Production. Anyone can produce Product, Capital is on the barrel as well.

The "SYSTEM" comes to a halt because it is designed to continually and perpetually grow to infinite levels yet does not account for finite resources or finite virtue of humanity at large.

Pretty much all disability applications are turned down the first time.

Yep got that. I went through the whole process. I went before the judicial advocate for SS administration as in a court. I was denied, repealed with the aid of a lawyer and that was denied, and I finally got to the third level of repeal which involved the court or what seems to pass as one in such case. I think it was actually arbitration.

That too even with a lawyer's help and about two to five years of documentation gathered up, was denied. Told I could refile again in a year after that, or even repeal their final. Easier to just refile as a few things have changed since. For one anxiety, PTSD, garden variety chronic depression are now included as legally defined for the DSM V. Meaning these will be "seen"/"recognized" by the Feds as actual "disabilities". Or they still may not be, ... with the feds who knows?

Oddly enough lacking a sense of smell is not considered a disability. Nor is having puberty only at age 23-28. Not being able to drive is not either. Granted I can operate some heavy machinery and various small crafts of various types, makes, models but I do not drive automobiles I freeze up when I try to do so. I get terrorized by driving / operating them for some unknown and uncontrollable reason, yes there is a phobia listed for it.

Let me clarify too, I'm a proud but humbled person. Proud in that I don't ask for help. This is a fault because by the time I do finally get swayed into asking, it's too late. I was brought up that a "man" didn't ask for help, no matter how dumb that sounds as a lesson to draw from grandfather's. And it's not about "men" being macho, instead it's about men not worrying the mamas. But my Lady, my Mama she is the one that swayed me to asking for help. Her seeing how the Feds are steams my broccoli, it upsets her and then by extension upsets me.

I'm humbled in the knowledge the Earth is a simple speck of dust in the Cosmos, I'm not even that. I'm grateful for the simple gift of Love that grants me Life, it truly is what merits honoring, not me. :) And little spoiler here, a little girl, named Hailey a few years ago was building tiny houses for the homeless in her area. Here's the spoiler ...

Check her out by looking up Hailey's Harvest. Need more young folks like her. :)

I know its hard not to be discouraged Morely but still.....

It is estimated that %70 of all disability is denied on the first try. I know this because I too am filed for disability and they move extremely slow in the approval process. Its a pain in the ass but you have to stick with it and appeal any rulings that dont favor you.

I been waiting on these tax cuts for over a year and am damn happy about them. The way it was anything I withdrew from my retirement was taxed at %28. With the tax cuts my tax rate will drop to %15. Thats a huge chunk of change in my pocket. When watching the news on it you have to keep in mind, the liberals believe anyone with a job are the rich class.

Yep, kind of thought of that a bit. Also been noting the expression "... lowers taxes for those earning over $75,000 ...". It's on that where I see a discrepancy, those cuts will stay for those in the higher bracket yet not stay for those in lower brackets, with the lower portion gradually paying more over the next decade. Return to my earlier point, I'm not begrudging anyone going on and doing the work to earn better for themselves. More power to you for that if you're capable.

What is without merit though I think is one class based upon economics having better tax charges than another. It lies in kin with if you're wealthy you can go around some laws. Don't deny that either, I'm sure a lot recent headlines could prove my point that the rich seem and are at times above the law. The law, inclusive of tax cuts or breaks is supposedly metered out equally to all. Doesn't take long to see the untruth to such a grand concept.

I donno Mr Morely, my ex makes shy of $40K a year on her job. She is in the %25 tax bracket but with this tax cut she will be in the $12K bracket. That is a huge savings for her and many like her that make a living as a laborer. All personal tax cuts expire in 2025 or 2027, cant remember. For them to make it a permanent tax cut would have taken way more legislation.

That sounds good to me! My husband usually manages somewhere around $36k-ish, so it sounds like maybe we'll be getting a much bigger refund next year! :) :) :)

Well, as it is currently part of our lease here required I sign on that I was not going to work outside the home nor run any business from it for a year. I am registered via our local WV workforce office and do check in with them to keep current, look for a few different forms of work, mail room/print shop, warehouse/material handler, even janitorial, entry level data entry.

My wife earns less than $15,000 annually. Me having another income would help to some degree, although we did that before too and it wasn't moving us any further ahead. Oddly with both of us making around $12,000 annually we still come in to be earning about $9,000 annually. There's various incidentals we had to shoulder through as well as a few life's ever handy "gotcha's". Ergo, that's why we ended up negative rather than positive, that's life for anyone.

Fed regulations I think say you need to earn 16 or 17 thousand annually to be considered poverty level. Don't get me wrong, we are now living in a nice, albeit done on the cheap end, apartment. That for us is hoped to be transitional. If it turns out it's not well, H.U.D is helping, strangely enough. Starts to make me feel like a lab rat being honest.

Well need to go, wife rang Pavlov's Bell. :)

I always found its far better to be naughty. Its a lot of fun plus you can buy your own presents and always get what ya want :teehee:

Quite a few of the wrapped items under our tree were actually selected and picked out by the recipients -- the first two that were under there in fact, a 23" LED monitor for me and some new desktop speakers for the mate. :D We went to microcenter and bought 'em while our son got started putting up the tree, first weekend in Dec. :D

I had thought about getting a 24" LED monitor, which is about the biggest, width-wise, my desk could accommodate, but when I started looking at their height including their stand, I realized that the shelf above my desk would have to be moved, or it wouldn't fit. When I looked at the 23", their height including the stand, will *just* fit under the shelf... and also I found a nice one for $99.99, plus 2 yr extended plan, which brought it to $115... about the price of a 24" *without* the extended plan. So I decided to go with the 23" and save a lot of moving/readjusting shit. I've had a 19" widescreen LCD since 2008, which I run along-side my laptop, so the 23" LED will be a real improvement -- size, and also the colors will match my laptop's LED better -- it's actually the same brand as my laptop (Acer), so it should be a simple matter to get the colors matched.

Andria

PS: Fingers crossed for your mate... Hope things keep looking up for her!

I got used to my MBP 2014 screen which is 2k ,
so looked at 2k an 4k screens an larger sizes byt most just way to expensive , an the 4k i could probably of just afforded where only 60hz , other just way to high cist for me so went with a Dell 27" 2K , 144hz with GSync for gaming needed to be high Res an a good GHZ to stop flickering ect in fast paced games, got it at a good price for specs with 2 year warranty. Under 300£ so happy enough with it.

its not the best around
but i got it at a good price.

So was actually much cheaper than similar Acer an Asus models of similar spec but they do have better colours on screen
The GPU was scandalous cost , had been slowly increasing in price since i first planned the build, but should be good for quite some time MSI GTX 1080TI Gaming X to match the Red blk build ,
Cannot believe how much Ram costs have shot up my 16gb was 120£ when planned build bought at 130£ now if i want yo add more its 200£ for same amount ,

Yeah, I've never been into the gaming thing, but we do sometimes catch up on some of our regular TV shows via the PC, so that will be nice, having a bigger screen -- though one of the gifts under the tree is a ChromeCast box, so we can cast from my laptop to the 60" TV screen. :D

I used to dream about building my own PC to my specs, but when I bought this one in 2015 and discovered I could get a nice laptop (intel i5) with 16gb RAM (bought separately) for just a bit over $500, I was all over that! I think the RAM was right around $99 in 2015; the "low voltage" kind or whatever it is, for laptops -- it uses less power to run so it doesn't run down the battery as fast when unplugged. I seldom unplug it, usually it sits on my desk connected to a real keyboard, mouse, nice speakers, and this 2nd monitor... but it's nice that I CAN unplug it and take it elsewhere when I need to!

Also -- we did our stockings last night, the 29 yr old kid was so damn impatient. :D Our cat also had a stocking, which contained some catnip mousies, so she's been having a GREAT time, stoned to the bone, now she's crashed on her bubbie's bed. :D
