Should I switch to Sony vtc 4 and are the vtc4 protected?

Efest, 18650 "35a," batteries are not protected either. They're either LG or Samsung cells that have been rewrapped with Efest wrappers. The highest possible continuous maximum discharge rating they could possibly have is 22 for a Samsung 25r. The 35 is derived from a pulse rating. It's something you don't want to go by if you value your hands and/or face.

Number3124 is right.

However the 25R is always rated at 20A. The Samsung cell rated at 22A is actually the INR18650-20R.

For vaping, you don't want PCB protection on your cells. This will limit your amp draw to 6A. Almost all vape batteries are unprotected flat-tops.

Use a battery that has a continuous discharge rate of 13 amps or higher. Meet or exceed 13 amps. 13 amps or higher. A minimum of 13 amps. The mod can pull up to 13 amps so the battery needs to be able to keep up. The battery's amp rating needs to meet or exceed the mods maximum current draw. Equal to or greater than 13 amps.

Efest and nitecore are fine, but Xtar is better. Stick with one of those three brands and you'll be good. Did I mention Xtar is better? ;)

Xtar is a high-quality charger. Nitecore is a lower quality charger.

I have spent weeks at charger factories in China. It's also pretty well known for the guys at candlepower. Even though much of the circuitry is the same the quality-control is higher where I mentioned.

My Nitecore has been working flawlessly. However, I'm sure from a technical standpoint the Xtars are better.
I have both. D2 & VP2. Neither one is better than the other as far as I'm concerned. The only difference I see, other than a higher price, is the xtar has a usb port in the back to charge a cell phone or other device. They are both very good chargers.

Biggest issue with Efest is that there are a lot of counterfeits out there. They have since put a SN and a confirmation on it to help identify clones. VaporDNA is a good spot to get legit batteries.

Look Mark, the Efest battery is fine for what you bought it for, and the nitcore charger will give you good service. Just smile relax and vape.

Vaping really isn't as much as a hassle as all these confusing posts make it out to be.

Yeah, don't bother learning about high drain lithium batteries or making informed decisions about how to spend your money. Just buy anything you stumble upon, put it all together and hit the button. o_O

Apparently you missed the sarcasm I was aiming at bwent. I'm supporting you asking all the questions you want. Dude seems to think this thread is confusing and unnecessary. I disagree.

Vapordna.com is a great place to buy authentic batteries that are legit. Buy them there and you should be fine.
