A section of the Eiffel Tower’s original spiral staircase, dating to 1889, will be auctioned at Artcurial in Paris on May 21. The 8.5-foot piece was once part of the tower’s now-removed stairway between the second and third floors and is expected to draw strong interest from collectors. [nytimes.com]
