So like the title says, either SMOKTech are total lousy negligent idiots or there is something i do not understand here, owners of the SMOK R200 please comments on this subject.
I am considering the SMOK R200 mod and after looking at the details of its software/firmware functionality, i am kind of shocked by the amount of fuckery they have done with it, here are the issues:
1- The firmware for the SMOK R200 seems to have been blindly taken from the R80 without even the slightest consideration for the differences in design and capability of these two devices, the first problem is the clock which they moved blindly from the R80 which does not effect the vaping performance of the device at all but it just shows how lousy they were with this, now they have released a firmware update to completely remove the clock but other more significant issues remain.
2- MAX 80W wattage limit in TC mode as it was on the R80 80W device, and that is the most stupid shit i have seen one of these manufacturers do, 80W max power in TC on a 200W device is just unacceptable, they do not allow you to set wattage manually and their pre-sets range from 20W to 80W, they should have made more reasonable intervals on the 200W device like for example 60W -> 80W -> 100W -> 120W -> 140W or even better, allow the freedom of wattage selection in TC mode like most other manufacturers do.
3- Single Coil - Dual Coil limitation is also a disaster, this also moved from the fucking R80 without a second thought, when they released the R80 the TFV4 Triple Coil RBA was still not released, and a 1 battery 80W device would only be capable of firing dual coils, but with the R200 release all that is different, now they have their triple coil RBA which is now not supported fully by their latest mod, and a 200W device can comfortably run triple and quad coil setups and again their device does not support that, which is total shit to say the least.
4- This is one more gigantic fuckery because they are using the developer ISP Programming Tool found here http://www.nuvoton.com/hq/support/tool-and-software/software?__locale=en under Programmer Software Tools Package, to let users upgrade their devices instead of putting the time to develop a simple user tool like Joyetech for people to update their mods with one click.
Such lousy software practices are the most horrible of all i have seen, i just can't understand how they can do this, am i missing something here? please correct me if i understand this the wrong way.
My cuboid just went out and I bought a smok R200 and I just noticed that my battery wraps are getting torn around the ends. Have you had this problem with the Smok or is it maybe one of my other boxes? I just started having this problem after adding the Smok R200 to the others I have and I try to keep the same batteries in each mod anyway so I think the way the battery door slides closed and you have to kind of push down on the batteries that this is what is doing it. Also I agree with you it is a crappy mod. Trying to use temp control is almost useless, won't let me set resistance properly and always some error before you can finally get a vape off it.
