eleaf 50 watt help

I was using 2 eleaf 20 watt mods for awhile until i noticed that each time I took a puff I was getting throat hits that burnt and hurt. I blamed it on my coils and got new coils for my aspire nautilus tank but every time I put a brand new coil in my tank I got the same dry burnt hit in my throat. I came to the conclusion that after many drops the mods must have been broken so I recently bought a eleaf 50 watt temperature control mod. So my assumption with the broken mods has been accurate. I must have dropped them one to many times causing some sort of malfunction in the battery. I placed my aspire tank on the new mod and and I no longer get burnt throat hits. I'm still not satisfied however. I want a tank that works well with the eleaf 50 watt so I can use it to its full potential. So I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good tanks that go well with this mod. I don't like 2 ml tanks.... or tanks that have breakable see through plastic/glass because they tend to break after a drop on the sidewalk, which is why I bought the aspire nautilus since it has an optional metal replacement you can put on the tank instead of the acrylic glass.

Oh and and one more question... could the nicotine mg's have anything to with hard/burnt/dry throat hits? im vaping a 50/50 blend at 30 mgs nicotine.... yea I know... I really need to bring that down a bit. haha

any input is helpful. Thanks.

EDIT: My mod isnt a 50 watt eleaf... its a 40 Watt TC...
EDIT #2 : Also I was wondering if anyone could explain the difference between a sub-ohm and regular ohm coil as well as explain the whole nickle coil TC ordeal along with the dangers of battery explosion related to nickel coils used improperly.

Whenever I experienced this it was caused by poor wicking. This juice couldn't keep up. I'm no expert but I have really enjoyed the Kanger sub tank. The prebuilt coils work surprisingly good and it also comes with a rebuildable Atty you can use for temp control. But even with temp control You still need good wicking. Make sure if you get one its the version 2, it has bigger holes in the rebuild Atty to allow more juice. Also even though it has a glass tank I did drop mine once and it survived. Lucky I guess

^^what he said.... One trick I've seen to improve wicking was to take a straight pin and poke the exposed wick in the coil with it to help get better juice flow. You may want to check the viscosity lf your juice also. 50/50 (50%pg /50%vg) will wick better and more efficiently than a juice with more vg.
Best of luck

Edit>>> didn't catch that 30mg part, ouch! Nicotine tends to behave similar to pepper in the bac k of
Your throat.
Try this :
I love this tank, its 5ml, top fill, and only has small bit of glass, I can't think of an all metal one, but th glass here is thick; I have the dropsies and never broke one.

coils:
http://sweet-vapes.com/clearomizers-cartomizers-tanks/aspire/aspire-coils/aspire-triton-coils.html

It will also use Trion coils which vape killer at 50w, with a ton of flavor and that tank comes with a good mouth to lung 1.2 ohm coil and a 0.5ohm coil so you have plenty of option. Trion coils, or beyond vale coils, or Atlantis coils. None of which have eve given me a dry burnt hit.

With that tank and the triton coils, I will bet that you will get a more satisfying vape with 8-12mg mic juice

This tank uses the same coils, but it has alloy of glass and is much cheaper.

30 mg is VERY high and would certainly cause painful throat hit.

With the 20 watt Istick delivering more power than it sometimes indicated was a design flaw that was corrected in following Istick models. The Kanger Subtank mini has SS replacement tanks available. While that will certainly make better use of higher wattage than your Nautilus it likely won't handle 50 watts. If you do go with a sub ohm tank you will need to make a pretty drastic reduction in nic content. They use more juice and so deliver more nic per hit. High nic won't cause a burnt hit but will certainly give a much stronger throat hit.

So this silo tank uses the aspire triton coils? interesting. I think I might go with this combination and reduce my nicotine mg for sure. I read something about sub-ohm tanks coils/tanks though...don't they need something special done with the mod in order for them work properly? Or can I just set my eleaf to wattage I want and be on my merry little way?

Also thanks to everyone else for you input. I havent made a solid decision besides reducing my nicotine mg's. So if there's any other ideas out there let me know.

Yes, the silo beast takes any coil that works on the Atlantis system
Which means
Eleaf Melo coils
Atlantis I, II and triton coils no matter the metal
And there's another I'm forgetting

With the triton coils, just use the regular SS coils at a 0.4 ohm and you should be good to go.
The only thing you wont be able to do is use NI200(nickel) or titanium because the 50w istick is not TC but you'll be fine with SS.

Before you ditch the Nautilus (mini?), I would for sure try 24 or even 18 mg nic levels. If you mouth to lung hit, I bet it will be a lot more comfortable of a vape.

Yea I just ordered some new juice. I'm gonna try that first for sure before spending 40 bucks on another tank.

my eleaf 50 watt is Temperature Control so should I get the the nickel coils? I was looking at these ones... http://sweet-vapes.com/aspire-atlantis-triton-nickel-coils.html

eleaf never made a 50w temp nod. They made a 40w and a 60w temp control device.

ahh shit your right... mines a 40 watt. This is what I have.... http://www.myvaporstore.com/Eleaf-iStick-40W-TC-Battery-Only-p/elis-is4010.htm

And also I'm curious about suh-ohms tanks and coils now... what is the difference between a sub-ohm and a regular ohm tank/coil .... and why do these aspire nickel sub-ohms tell me there is a risk of battery explosion if i use them incorrectly?

EVERYONE HAS BEEN SO HELPFUL THANK YOU!

well that sort of changes things
I've never used that mod but have read ota tc feature can be.... A little squirmy -again I have zero experience there so hopefully someone who does can chime in.
-and with the triton coils I usually need 45-50w to be satisfied with the 0.4 ohm coil. That silo comes with a 1.2 and a 0.5, so maybe see which performance you like better and go from there? I know the silo beast 0.5ohm coil was damn good at 30-33w! He'll, if you did decide to try tc, the Atlantis ni200 coils alone were kick ass. - I think sweetvapes Haas those for 10-12$
