Eleaf iStick 30w users, I need advice

I just bought an Eleaf iStick 30w sub ohm to use with my Aspire Atlantis. I was using a Kangertech Kbox 40w, but wit tired of changing batteries. I was using a 0.5 ohm coil at 25 watts. I felt I was losing flavor faster than with the Aspire CF Sub Ω battery so when I bought the iStick, the sales lady gave me a 1.0 ohm coil without telling me. When I noticed and asked, he did it will last longer. But to get the flavor I want, I am burning at 27.5-30 watts and its getting really hot.

What I want to know is what are those of you using this set up using? What ohm coil? What wattage?

I am also considering getting a Kangertech Subtank mini, but would want to know what coils to get and what wattage to start at?

i run my .5 ohm atlantis coils at around 30 watts, kanger subtank mini is a solid tank great flavor to boot. try the .5 ohm atlantis coils on your Istick.
the kanger .5 ohm coils are good at around 25-28 watts

My wife uses her iStick 30W exclusively with an Atlantis, .5ohm JOC coil, 28-30W. She never complains about it getting really hot or anything like that.

We haven't tried the 1ohm coils yet, but from the sounds of your post, probably just stick with what has been working for her, the .5ohm JOC coil.

Hopefully you'll get better results with that coil as well, good luck!

Im using a .6 Ohm dual coil setup in an Origen Genesis at 27.4 watts and it has been going great...

Ya havecto use some descretion to. I mean dont chain vape like crazy. If its used properly then its excellent.

I keep my iStick 30 topped with a Subtank Mini with 0.5 ohm OCC with a little extra cotton stuffed in one side as detailed elsewhere. I typically roam between 18 and 22 watts, with 3mg juice.

No problem going higher watts with this setup, but I'm trying to avoid turning vaping into a hobby or lifestyle thing for me. I just want to remain off cigarettes.

I have not had good luck with the 1.2 ohm OCC duing my first few experiments with them, and put them aside indefinitely because tweaking is frustrating for me, not enjoyable like it is for some. To each his/her own.

This is a little off topic but still applies to the istick 30w....I noticed mine getting real warm (basically hot) the other night while it was charging so I unplugged it. This morning I plugged it back in to finish charging and it was like room temperature, lol..wth...meaning it was charging like all is good, I hope.

I guess my question is, is this a common issue with this device? Overheating while charging is a big no no....

I keep my chargers on a switch so its easier to shut em down in an emergency but damn, once she decides to vent its to late, even to do that...
