I recently borrowed my friends joyetech and used it with Kanger mini sub tank and after using it when I go back to my I stick at the same settings it does not work as well I was thinking about buying this one is there any recommendations that would be similar mod to the evic vt?

You mean you have an Istick 40 TC and your friend has an eVic VT - and you like his better? Why not just buy a VT then?

Were you using both Evic ans istick in temperature control?

istick's TC is not accurate so the same settings will not give a same result.

The Evic VT is a great device IMO and the TC40 is known to be largely inaccurate. If you like it why seek out an alternative and just get the Evic VT.

Agreed, the Evic VT is currently my favorite TC "mod". Heck, my Vaporshark rDNA40 has taken a back seat. The extra 20W makes a huge difference in the coils heating up nice and fast before the temp control kicks in. Of all of the non AUTHENTIC Evolv-based mods I've use it's by far the best.

I'm just gonna stand up for the eLeaf, since, well, it's my mod :). To me, any "inaccuracies" in temperature are no big deal, after all, there's no problem with trial-and-error, and finding the settings you like.

Also, it's rather clear the eVic is in a different class than the eLeaf. It's got 50% more power and about double the charge capacity, and it surely costs more.

I'm a relatively new vaper, and am only vaping at around 15watts right now, so the eLeaf made a lot more sense for me personally. I'm the smoking-replicator type and not the cloud chaser type or the tech freak. I think it's a quality product. I've got it paired with a Joyetech eGo ONE tank and titanium coils. Small mod, small tank, nice and discreet.

Congrats! I am sure it will serve you well. My experiences with the iSticks is that they are inconsistent and cheap (both quality and price). That said, if they help someone quit smoking, then they have a definite place in the market, just not for me.

I chose well... yet you speak ill of my mod.... oookay...

I guess I respectfully disagree... I think it's a very solidly built device, especially for the uber stealthy size, and it gives me a good vape as long as I set it right. I got two different tanks now, the Genitank and the Joyetech eGo one (with a Ti coil), and both provide a pleasant and different experience.

@VaporGoalie34 Honestly, I was pointing out to @bri66799 that he chose well, however, it really applies to everyone that has found something that works for them, even if it's an iStick.

I'm not speaking ill of your mod, I pointed out what makes it less than ideal for me. Something I have learned in the journey from smoking to vaping is that what works for you may not work for me. Vaping is a very personal experience, my tastes are different than yours, juices I like, you might hate, tanks that work for me may not work for you. I did not enjoy the flavor of my juice in the Genitank, but I have heard good things about the flavor from the Joyetech (but haven't tried it myself). Like the mod, if it works for you and you are happy with it, then vape on!

When I was just starting out, if the iSticks had been around, my opinion might have been very different than it is today. If it is working for you then great, stick with it. Will I buy an iStick for my current needs? Probably not, but I do foresee a potential that if my mod dies when I'm travelling, I might grab an iStick to get me through, they are cheap enough that I wouldn't hesitate to grab one for temporary use.

Well, I guess I do see the different perspectives. You've been vaping for a number of years, I've been vaping for a month.

My priorities: I don't want to fumble around with batteries, and don't ever plan to make big investments in hardware. Bang for the buck is my game, and getting a 40 watt device with temp control for $42.50 at a brick and mortar shop was quite reasonable to me (yes, i know, i could have saved about $15 on the internet, but waiting sucks). Both tanks cost me $15, one used for TC mode, one for watt mode. And in wattage mode, I'm at best vaping at 1.5 ohms and 12-14 watts. So i've got a lot of leeway.

So, for less than the cost of a carton of cigs in the state of Connecticut, I think I've got a good little starter arsenal. I may someday get a backup mod too, in case the worst happens :).

Your perspective is a lot like mine was in the beginning. As for shopping on the internet and saving a couple bucks, I'm glad you supported the local B&M instead. While I do shop on the web, I do try to buy as much as I can locally first. If it is a difference of just a few bucks, then the local shops get my money. When it is a big difference, then economics do tend to win out, but the first shot always goes to the B&Ms near me.

Yeah, I admit my perspective has changed since I started vaping. In the beginning it had to be easy because smoking was easy. If it was harder than lighting a cigarette, then I wasn't interested. I started with crappy little cig-a-likes, but skipped over eGo style batteries because it was just about the time that the iTaste VV came out with adjustable voltage and wattage, at the same size as the eGo. The next jump came quickly when I realized that the iTaste had really bad battery life (only 800mah). That was really the beginning of the end for me, after that I went through mod after mod, trying to find the best one. If the iStick had been available then, I may never have taken the journey that I did, and I would have saved a TON of money... LOL

Ultimately though, with everything I went through to get to where I am now, the biggest thing I learned was that everyone has different opinions on what is best, and if it works for them, then it must be good. I started actually documenting my journey and reviewing products, so that I could try and do what I could to help others make informed opinions, rather than buying stuff based on guess work like I did.

Anyway, I think I have rambled on a little too much, so enjoy your gear! It does sound like you got a great, cost effective arsenal to start. Who knows how your perspective may change as time goes on.

The Joyetech mod is a better quality mod, in MYO. It's sturdy, has a great battery life, and can handle my collection of sub-ohm tanks. I'm new to the temp control feature, haven't really used it much. I bought it as a set with the ego ONE Mega and wound-up switching tanks. I use the VV/W setting and I'll eventually start playing with the TC mode. I'm more than happy with it now. I had two 50W Eleafs disappoint me! No longer a fan of those mods!
