That's something I don't get. I see it all the time in retail & customer service jobs, where the person obviously hates it. Um, if you hate it so much, why are you doing it?

Dunno if you know (I didn't), but get the McD app. Fridays are free med fry days (with any purchase), and there's always all sorts of other coupons (buy 1 lg sandwich, get 1 free, etc). Here, there's a buy any item, get a 1/4 cheeseburger for free coupon every time the local pro soccer team plays (every game day).

I think I'll be adding in a Noisy Cricket...

Honestly, I've not posted any thoughts about what I'm putting in because I like to match it up with what I'm removing.

Anyone familiar with me know so have QUITE the collection...

Noisy cricket at ecig.com is $5....that's an unreal price...wont last long either....

Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk
Wow! I saw the post title saying it was $11.94. $5 is a hella great price!
And kudos to ecig.com for having this on product page:

WARNING: For advanced users only. Do not use any 510 connection that has a flat or floating center pin with any hybrid device.

Question, though. on the product page it says that the indestructible rda pairs well with it, but nowhere on the description for the indestructable do I see any reference to it being suitable for a hybrid mod. Any idea if it's got the right sort of 510 pin (one that won't screw down to being fully flush, etc)?

The Indestructible was designed FOR this device. That is, the authentic...

As for other RDAs... IF the center pin extends past the threaded outer ring by a mm or 2, AND does not move up when pressed down, OR has counter-clockwise adjustable center pin.

Currently, I have my SubZero on there, and I love it. I've also used my Tsunami, and Phenotype.

Other cautions not listed on their page:

1. Know ohms law! This is a series box. This means the voltage is doubled, but the mAh and Amps are the same as a single cell. As a rule, I NEVER build below .4 ohms. And the build HAS to be chunky!

2. Button ALWAYS goes on over the negative pole. Atomizer ALWAYS goes on over the positive pole. Batteries are ALWAYS installed one positive down and one positive up.

3. Batteries MUST be married and rotated. Married means they are the same make and model purchased at the same time from the same place, and are only to be used in that mod. Rotated means that the battery with the atty on top this time should be the battery with the button next time. These batteries MUST be quality, high drain, IMR chemistry li ion batteries. No ***fire batteries, or Efests, or MXJO, or Basen, or AWT. For this mod stick to original authentic from LG, Samsung, or Sony (personally, I avoid Sony as there have been SO many counterfeit VTC4s...). I prefer LG HB6.

4. Keep your mod clean. Although I normally advise against disassembling a mod, this one needs to have all the contacts and threads cleaned periodically.

5. Get the FatDaddyVaoes noisy cricket upgrade. It's $18 shipped, provides you with another tube mod, and makes the Cricket much safer to use and easier to maintain.

They kinda cover #2, saying, "Mechanical mods do not have reverse battery protection, so it is important to make sure that you always match up the positive and negative ends correctly. The positive end always connects to the atomizer and the negative end to the button. " Question, though (and I think I remember a similar discussion back a year or so ago regarding mechs in general) but does it really matter if the body of the mech mod is the negative or the positive, as long as the batteries are correct in relation to one another in a dual battery mech? Of course, if it has a mosfet (which I dunno if the cricket does or not), then it would matter, but. . .

When re-reading their (ecig.com's) description just now, I noticed they say that the cricket has a specialized 510 connector that makes it compatible with both regular 510s and the hybrid 510s. Is that correct?

Edit - in re-reading a 3rd time, actually, ecig.com's description is a bit confusing. It says, "The Noisy Cricket features a one-piece Hybrid adapter atty connector, so it can accommodate both 510 and Hybrid atomizer connections" So, it's either a regular hybrid connector or it's a hybrid of a hybrid that accommodates both the regular 510 and the hybrids.

#5 - I went to a site and looked at the upgrade, but it didn't say why the stock equipment on the cricket is bad. Mind elaborating?

Switch comes with a floating glass-filled PEEK insulator (not just regular PEEK) and highly conductive rivet. Safe for use even with shorter atty positive contact. Cap is also knurled so that you do not have to scar the center with a coin. Switch uses magnetic springs with smaller diameter battery contact to accomodate extended bottom batteries.

Yeah, that's what I just read. I still don't see what's so unsafe about the stock equipment (as long as one uses an atty that has a pin that makes good connection) and why this is a must buy. Does the existing switch not make proper contact with the battery? What's an extended bottom battery? (I wish my bottom was extended, I got whitey, flat-ass syndrome). Color me confused.

The connector threads are rather standard and so can accommodate SOME true hybrid atomizers in place of the hybrid connector.

The FDV upgrade provides a chunkier, knurled button making it MUCH easier to unscrew and thus break connection if needed. The FDV upgrade also includes a very low profile standard 510 connector so ANY atomizer can be used (as long as it's built correctly).

In theory, the current should flow either way and reversing batteries in toto should not pose a problem IN THEORY. In practice, these are direct current and can behave poorly when reversed. My batteries are expensive and my fingers and face are dear to me so I've chosen not to experiment :)

Thanks. Appreciate it. As I've mentioned in another thread, I have what was supposed to be a fatman clone, but the 510 pin extends about 2mm below the threads and wont screw in any further, making it such that it doesn't fit on regular 510 gear. I actually damaged one mod's 510 connection with it, but it was fugly anyway.

I've already bought a hybrid mod for that defective fatman clone, though, so dunno if i'll use it on the cricket that I just ordered or not. In looking at pics, I see that the batteries are removed from the top, so I can see a huge plus for the knurled button. You'd think the stock equipment would be easier to remove since you have to routinely take the batteries out for charging and swapping. Guess I'll have to order the kit after all.

Hi. Taking a break from outside work. Too friggin hot out. But there's stuff I gotta get done before the afternoon storm moves in.

Tried to order the cricket upgrade kit but couldn't get checkout to work. PayPal just sat there saying logging in. Tried over and over and 3 different browsers. Finally sent email to see if I could just PayPal the $ without using checkout.

Haven't heard anything back yet so I guess I'll be doing without the upgrade. Oh well.

@midknight420 - I hear ya. Hard to not be keeping an eye on em during the first few hours.

@Vapingbeauty - afternoon :)

I think I'm gonna take a nap. Storm's here and worn out from working out in heat.

I used to spend a great deal of time naming juices if they weren't cloned; now I've gotten simpler.

"Goon Juice" and "Vape Me" are about as creative as I get these day, lol

Most of the names I have are just the ingredients I them LOL

I'm not crazy, my mother had me tested.

Me too. Apple and Cookie figure heavily in my juice section on the dresser :giggle:

When I was younger, names like Walrus Vomit and Butt Crust would have been very appealing to me. Now it sounds gross and I don't care if it tastes like my favorite dessert. Yuck, lol.

Those are the forum safe names. The ones I discarded were worse. Lol. I have a little juice exchange with some friends in FL and Philly. We more or less name them for oneupmanship. Lol
She's afraid to ask and I'm curious, what's that say about me LOL?

Vapemail, today, brought me a Limitless Plus. Then, while running errands, I snagged a Nugget. Too damn cute. Look great with my Moonshot. This is the new model... I've built the Moonshot using SS, and I'm vaping in TC... noice!
