Efuntop.Us Update:

Well the shipping label was FINALLY created last night and it will ship out today.
"Supposedly "

That's 5 DAYS it took them to move this device from their U.S. Warehouse shelf to their shipping door! Thats ridiculous!! And "Andy" here, NEVER returned my PM!
So yeah... my initial assessment of this site I feel is correct.
SHADY! VERY SHADY!

And what do you bet when I finally received this thing a full week and a half/two weeks after I ordered it, that something is screwed up with it, hmmm?
Because at this point, that won't surprise me one bit!

So...
for all you guys wanting to save a $10 by ordering from this place,
Just know you're gonna WAIT for it! ( U.S. warehouse or not)

(But thanks to you guys for trying to help me out with everything.
Its not your fault these people are the way they are.
And obviously no hard feelings here. )

I had quite a wait top but my order was fine despite the box being a little bit dented up

So how is the temp control on the Stainless?
Does it work well?
Is there a setting to adjust the coefficient?

No coefficient that I've seen but it worked pretty well with my crown tank but it's leaking

Well the SS upgrade didn't cause your Crown to leak!
Haha. Just messing with ya man!

Can you post a pic of the new interface in "Power Mode" so we can see how it looks?

I haven't tried the SS TC mode yet, but most everything I have seen says that it does best with 316 vs. any of the others ... Of course though, YMMV!

Hey thanks bud.

Looks like a nice upgrade to the interface.
Does it always have to show Amps, Time And Puffs, or can they be removed?
And can the time and Puffs be reset back to zero like before?
Can you make any of the fonts bigger or are the large fonts dedicated to Watts,Volts, and Temp?

Got links for that?
Let me look, there were a couple other threads here on VU and I think a couple in that "other" place ... You could probably find it quicker by searching the forums here though, I'm at work and won't have a chance to really look for the info until much later tonight.

I have not found any way to make adjustments to the fonts or display information. I think there was a 1.3 upgrade in the same zip file that provided the SS TC mode, but left the display exactly like the 1.2 display ... Not positive, as I went straight from 1.2 to 2.0 ... Can flash it tonight and confirm though.

Oh that's part is no biggie.
I was just curious.

More concerned about finding the literature on why 316 is working better than 304 and others though.

I think the general consensus was that Joyetech just picked a TCR to hardcode into it ... since it isn't an adjustable TCR. I have not seen any formal info from JT on it though ... so that could be way off base.

It always shows them from what I see..
Yes they can be reset..
Fonts aren't adjustable from what I see so far

I did my update to the v1.30. It retains the regular screen layout which I like...
Also, been reading on another forum. Seems there is a thread on the joytech forum that suggest that joytech used a tcr for 304 ss when creating the ss update.

They did. i read that in the Joyetech forum. They tested it using 304 but the 316 is a better quality IMO. Im a Body Piercer and all we use is jewelry made from 316L SS which is medical grade.

No doubt the 316 is of higher quality and likely preferred by most users. I'm sure they had a reason to use 304. I believe 304 is cook ware grade.

And if I remember my properties correctly, it also contains less nickel than 316. But for those vapers who are still researching, please note that there's already a little amount of nickel in 316.

I thought I read that someone from Joyetech said they used SS 304 to test the new firmware. No clue if this is really true, nor where I saw it exactly.

I also would be interested in a link with more about this, as my mod has the anemic vape problem in Ti mode, so I'm hoping that switching to SS for temp control will be the solution. So I'm getting ready to buy some SS wire. Thanks.

Mine had the anemic problem until I upgraded to 2.0... now Ti vapes like it does on my D2 if not better

How long are your batteries lasting? I have a brand new hg4 running a tgf4 mini Clapton coil at .35ohms and I'm getting like 135 puffs or 3minutes of use with the 2.0 update

I prefer, much prefer, the 1.x screen layout, too.

Does 1.3 have the SS TC capability in it?

As for type 304 stainless vs. 316: Mainly only an issue when corrosive elements will be present for time enough to degrade the material. Otherwise: Not a huge difference between the two.

Personally, I prefer the 2.0 screen layout. Now if it would be integrated into the MVR software, I would be happy. Mostly because it is "nostalgic" from the days of my original eVic! :)

I like the new UI as well.
At least Joyetech seems to be staying on top of it and offering options.
Rather than just abandoning a relatively new product and pushing out the next one like a lot of other companies have.

Everything these days is "MOAR MONEY" so they push out the newest and best thing right away... it'd be nice to just settle on one device for a while for a change... I'm hoping the VTC will be that device for a while now at least...

Agreed.

Or...maybe Joyetech just doesn't have anything else ready to launch, so they're updating this one properly to keep sales up and not have it completely drop off the radar when 10 more mods come out by Christmas time.
Either way, it worked out in our favor for ONCE.

Not that it is important, but they do have new colors now for the VTC Mini. I ordered a VTC mini a couple of days ago which has already shipped, before I knew about the new colors, but I think I'd have chosen black in any case.

And is that some type of protective cap on the USB port or are the pictures just making it look that way?

No, there isn't an included protective cap. I added one to my VTC (this one). It looks very nice on the mod and protects it from dust or lint, especially when you carry it in your pocket. If you charge using the USB it would probably get lost pretty quickly. The caps are tiny. I always use a dedicated charger so the USB is only used for updates.

Cool.....thanks for the link. I'll have to place an order. It would stay on always unless I do a firmware update as I also use an external charger for batteries.

Mostly because it is "nostalgic" from the days of my original eVic!

I thought some of that data was interesting.
It would've been more interesting if I had stuck with just the eVics. I like being able to look and see how much use I got out of one but not the other. 8859 puffs vs 126016 puffs.
If they would've made those with 5a I probably would've stuck with them longer, but once I got a IPV-mini2 they just weren't cutting it.

That's a you issue.
Occasionally the new thing is a big enough jump that users should switch if they want it, tanks from cartos, small batteries to large batteries, mech to regulated low ohm to temperature control, etc.
Usually the changes aren't that great, this dripper to that dripper, that stick mod to this stick mod, today's newest version of a kayfun. People are enamored by the new shiny or they're getting paid to act like they are so you'll buy one.

I quit with and then using RN4072 until some real changes came. I stuck with eGo-C for over a year. I stayed with 18650 stick mods and 3ml tanks over a year. I was happy at each of those places. I only changed to the straight box mods because of price and then to TC so quickly because of price.

Maybe you have reasons to not be happy or maybe you're stuck believing the hype about every new thing. If the former keep looking, happy keeps you from smoking. If the later it may help to avoid forum posts and videos about the latest shiny.
I really see no reason why the VTC shouldn't keep people satisfied if they want to be (except maybe battery life of a high power single battery box).

I have the original lol figures!
Does the mini have USB charging for the car? The one thing about my evixVT is it's my travel companion lol at 30w it keeps me set till I come home (and w the USB really helps)
I would love the Teal Mini

I expect the eVic-VTC Mini to hold me for the foreseeable future. I'm not chasing clouds and don't expect ever to do. Plus: A mod with a single 18650 is big and heavy enough, IMO. Two? I don't think so. I can see maybe going to a mod with a single 26650, but that's about it.

I don't mind the IVP4 size/weight. It goes in my bib pocket or cargo pant pocket and the battery life (about 5 days) lets me grab and go. But for longer outings I wouldn't want to carry two or three for flavor choices. How many long life mods does one need?
VTC isn't bad in TC on battery life but I probably would need to swap batteries (like I did with stick mods) instead of charge in mod if it was all I had.

A lot of that also depends on what builds you use. My 26ga dual TFV4 Ti was killing batteries fast. Dual 28ga fixed that problem.
I was thinking more of the sub-ohm power mode vapers. I bet they can go through a single 18650 quick.

I really wanted to wait for the new white model with the Tron tank but I folded. Couldn't help but order another v1 kit, this time in white. I'm loving the eGo One tank with a stainless steel coil in TC, but my Crown lives atop my black VTC mini. I always have at least 3 mods going at once. Only having one SS TC mod just isn't cutting it. That last update really put this thing over the top. Couldn't stand the taste of titanium and I'm not comfortable using nickle. Plus the Crown coil heads seem to be lasting longer in temp mode. It's still too early to be sure though.

Is the Tron tank any different than eGo One? Looks to me like the only difference is the looks.
