first diy order

So...I have decided to jump into the diy thing. Having lurked here for awhile and studying old posts and such, I have some ideas on which flavors I would like to start with. However I may need some advice on some other additives such as AP, EM or others to get started with. I tend to like mints/menthols and sweet/creamy flavors.

Also been looking at doing a one stop shop for flavors/ supplies to take advantage of shipping. Leaned toward Bull City for the review of the nic. However they seem to be out of most of it. Now maybe eliquid Mart or ecig express?

Sorry if too many questions all at once.
Thanks in advance.

Bull City will likely restock soon - or you could drop them a note (or call) and ask when they'll restock. Eliquid Mart is good for getting sample sizes of flavors when you're starting out, and Ecig Express has a wide variety also. I actually don't use any additives at all (I think of AP more as a flavor than an additive, and I do use that one). Good luck - DIY is addictive once you start :)

+1 for Bull City! Eliquid Mart is great for sample sizes. Have had a LOT of issues with ECX, but will order from them if I can't find a flavor in a pinch.

Like Amanda, I don't use or feel the need for additives. I have sweetener, but have never needed to use it. I used to vape nothing but mints, and sweet or creamy, like you mentioned. I still like them! But, since DIY, I vape a much larger variety and range of flavors.

I would buy what your budget allows lol.

menthol and koolada ... if you like minty menthol I'd pick up some obviously menthol or the crystals and make your own depending on how much you really love menthol lol. I have 10mls pre mixed menthol flavoring that will last me a lifetime so one bottle of flavoring is fine but if I wre into menthol flavors I might just buy the crystals. also I would pick up some koolada at some point. I prefer koolada over menthol most times just because I dont like menthol. it just makes vapes "cold" im actually vaping some koolada now in a vape. it doesnt have a lasting effect like menthol would, the koolada will eventually fade away so I probably would not make huge batches with added koolada but it doesnt fade as fast as a lot of people say either.

EM... I use vary rarely but it can be useful at times to take the bite out of some vapes and blend them a bit but you will sacrifice in overall intensity of the vape . If I use it its because I am probably looking to try an achieve a texture rather than enhance the flavor of something. usually I can find something better . I cant remember exactly so dont quote me but I believe EM changes the way your tongue taste things. its a lot more than that but basically thats what it comes down to. not something I would vape a lot of.

AP... I dont care for the way it taste but a lot of tobacco recipes benefit from it and there are lots of magic tricks you can pull off with it if you invest some time experimenting with it. I do keep it around just because eventually it gets used now then.

vape wizard... have it but never tried it. so I dont know lol

smooth, .... have it and dont use it. I dont get any effect from it really but some do.

those are the main ones I guess. I know there are more but in a random ramble because I seen my name mentioned above thats what I got lol. the 3 you might use the most of are the first 3 , menthol , koolada, EM. I wouldnt say you "need" them tho. like amanda and huck I rarely use additives at all. there is this big myth that you need all these fancy additives to make great flavors. great flavors come from lots of practice, a lot of failures and asking a lot of questions :) good luck on your DIY adventure ! you picked a great forum to learn DIY.

Oh and bull city is the bees freakin knees. the dude is super cool just send him an email to see when he might have something in stock again. its never long usually.

I emailed bull city asking about when they would be getting more nic in and got a reply back on a Saturday night!! Wow!!

I'm told we should be getting it any day. I know they had been working on our order last week but were short staffed last week.

Best,

Drew

If you like sweet/creamy, consider Marshmallow as a sweetener. I agree with what Wllmc said about EM. I used to use it when I first started DIY, it was recommended quite a bit. Life was much tastier when I stopped using it.

The wife and I ordered the bulk of our first venture into DIY from Bull City Vapor and have pretty much been happy with it. The only thing I didn't care for was some of the juices leaked in the bags and the labels are coming off. It didn't bother me about the amount lost but the labels did, I can just relabel them. I will be sending them a note to let them know they should check the caps a bit more before shipping. I would be glad to order from them again in a heart beat.

Oh wow. I'm used to that with ECX orders. They're all but one time a mess! I've never had that happen with a Bull City order.

That's why I had asked in another thread about leaking bottles, I know BCV is very good but wanted to make sure. Had it only been the one order I could have understood but it happened on two seperate orders. No worries like I said I would order from them again in a heart beat and I did drop them a line letting them know so they could address it.

I would like to also add this is why I was wondering about the difference in altitude since its a change of almost 2 psia which could cause the bottles to want to leak and very well could have, who knows.

I wonder if it's the altitude, as you say? Were these original bottles?

Can't recomend the Nic from Ecigexpress. My first purchase was a 240 mL bottle from them. Not to my liking. I had good luck with the My Freedom Smokes sale last year but you probably won't have to wait long on Bull City.

WOW, cannot believe I got a response this late at night. They are aware of this and had a few bottles that had issue's but they have been replaced so this shouldn't happen again. They offered to replace mine and I let them know that would not be necessary that I am very happy with my purchase and their service.

throwing this out there if you dont want to wait on BCV to get nic you could get all your stuff there and get the nic straight from vaperstek. you will really be happier with the vaperstek nic for sure.

Then, yes, I'm thinking - as you say - the altitude must be the culprit. I've never had a bottle leak from them (unlike the other place!).
me either, never had one leak. Im sure one day I'll get a leaky bottle. its got to happen sooner or later lol. but after having 20 straight orders without one I'll let it slide. ha

...sorry I can't figure out the quote thingy...i think I will just wait on BCV and order all at once to qualify for the free shipping. However I did think about ordering from VT...lol.

See the "reply" at the bottom right of this post? If you click on that, in the post you'd like to quote, it'll quote it for you. If you'd like to quote more than one post, you can click on as many as you like for mutli-quotes. Don't feel bad, it took me a bit to get used to it, too. :)

Hey everyone! Wanted to stop by and let you know that since we switched our wholesale nic bottle type quite a few months back, we have received very few leaky bottle complaints.

We offer 100mg wholesale Nic liters for 44.99 - which is about 35% of what BCV charges (125.00)

Let me know if you have any questions!
