The Flash will be battling it out against two villains in Season 3: Dr. Alchemy, and speedster Savitar. This will be the third season to feature a speedster villain, after Reverse Flash in Season 1 and Zoom in Season 2.
Executive producer Todd Helbing is aware there's the concern of getting repetitive, but explained to me during a recent interview why it feels important to have a speedster battling out against Barry Allen. He also discussed how Flashpoint will be translated from the comics to the small screen, how Jay Garrick will fit into Season 3 and why he's looking forward to the upcoming Supergirl/The Flash musical crossover.
