Folks, is there a bare bone list of flavor necessities for beginners to buy? This question has probably been posted a million times, but I can't seem to find a good list. I understand the mixing aspects after reading hundreds of threads, but not flavors needed to begin.

Meaning, a list of flavors essential to have on hand which can be used for various recipes?

I like just about any flavor, been sticking with fruit flavors lately, but my taste buds change like the weather...frequently.

That Butterscotch thread really peaked my curiosity in DIY... with the feds breathing down our backs, it's best to get mixing than wait and possibly end up on the short end of a stick. I already have liters of nic stored.

Thanks....:)

Hard to deliver a definitive list - it really depends on your taste. That said, if you're into fruits these are the ones I absolutely must have on hand (your mileage will likely vary wildly):

FA Forest Mix
FA Pomegranate
TFA Strawberry Ripe
TFA Blueberry Wild
FA Apricot
FA Mango
FA Fuji
FA Citrus Mix
CAP Juicy Peach
CAP Raspberry V2

This is only an intro list to my fruit collection, but these are my favorites. If you'd have asked about dessert or candy flavors the list would be quite different...

This is a thread topic I have been looking for. I recently made an error and ordered up a bunch of TFA flavors assuming all the companies were basically the same in flavor etc. Bookmarking this one for when I am ready to place a new order and expand my collections of flavors

Sometimes the bane of DIY'ers is finding a nice recipe and being one or two flavors short. I suggest spending some time reading more threads in the Forum Recipe section and selecting some mixes you think you would like to make. Write down the flavors. Get those flavors. I suggest you also look at the posts with a lot of feedback of folks saying how fine that recipe is. After a bit you will notice common flavors found in those recipes that can be perhaps your bases for future recipes.

While more often posted to answer the question of, "what can I make with these flavors", I see no reason why it could not help in selecting some.

Just my 2 cents...and Good Luck!

Guessing you may not be able to buy a hundred flavors out of the gate.

Fresh cream, Vienna cream, marzipan, marshmallow...all FA. You can make a ton of combinations of flavor profiles by adding just "one" or two fruits and should end with a fun result.

I did see a vote above for Vienna cream and I think a marzipan. But for me those are all must haves.

From there you can build a done of other recipies picking all the other flavors already listed

Of course it is highly recommended you pick a few recpies prior to picking random flavors...with the hope you will have some good vapes while you are working out the problems that come along with making your own recipies.

Thanks, all very helpful...I copy-pasted all the flavors, going to order them this week.
