Flavor from Serpent RDTA vs Baby Beast meh

Hey guys,

So I have an AL85 with a baby beast running the x4 coils. I get a super flavorful vape at 42w. I've since bought a wotofo serpent rdta and have been experimenting with building. Everything I've read states this is an amazing tank for flavor. The problem is I can't get anything to match the flavor coming from my baby beast x4 coils and I keep going back to it. I'm running the stock 0.5 ohm looks to be kanthal fused Claptons that come with the serpent. What am I doing wrong? I've tried a 26/30 ss316l Clapton as well. Any recommendations/ideas?

Thanks,
Josh

Just ordered some ss316l 28gx2/40g 3.0mm fused Claptons and some 28g ss316l plain wire. Hopefully can get some decent flavor from it.

I get great flavor from the Serpent RDTA. I use different types of S.S. Clapton wire 6wrap at 3mm. I wick with rayon tight through the coil and trimmed to the bare minimum, barely going through the deck.

I just bought some ss316l to experiment with and some prebuilt ss316l Claptons from advanced so hopefully that does the trick. Cramming more wick in the coil seemed to help a bit too

Not sure what you mean by "cramming" but too much cotton can mute flavors. Learning to wick properly takes some practice.

Just got the Serpent SMM on Monday and it came with Ni80 coils, not a huge fan of Ni80 but for a single coil I'm getting fantastic flavor between 45w & 50w, think I actually like this better than TFV8. The Ni80 ohm out about .24.
