What are some top brands out there? I'm thinking about giving TFA a try.

I picked up these flavors as my first flavors.
Fa fresh cream
Fa meringue
Fa custard
Fa cookie
Tfa banana cream
Tfa brown sugar extra

So far I've made some pretty good juices with these, today I mixed 60ml (15ml X 4) and made 4 different juices. The banana cream is the only one I can taste off the bat as the rest I taste close to nothing. Letting them all steep.

Well, no, not exactly. I just REALLY prefer FA. They're super concentrated, so they require less, they're very creamy and I don't get that odd chemical taste or aftertaste that I do get from some of the TFA ones. I get the true, intended flavor.

I really like TFA Vanilla Swirl and their Whipped Cream flavors. They show on their website which ones have custard notes on them, which is great info if it's something you're trying to avoid. FA doesn't use that stuff, so there's less to be concerned with. I don't entirely avoid flavorings that do contain the stuff, I just don't vape all day everyday.

Gotcha. Do you have a favorite place you get FA from?

Mama J's Flavor Shop
Bull City Vapor
*those are my top 2
Ecigexpress when I can't find what I need from the others and if I have zero luck, I go to eliquidmart.

Bull City and Ecigexpress sell almost all the brands I listed.

Haha, two replies to quotes from you in a row from me Huck.

But seriously, this is my preference too. And I also agree. I have a lot more FA flavors than others but there are other brands I can't do without too. I gotta have my capella vanilla custard v1 (warnings heeded) the TFA vanilla swirl and FW butterscotch as well as many others.

My recommendation is to experiment with different ones. Look at recipes that sound good to you. Look at flavors that look good to you too. What would YOU like to make and what sounds good to you? I'm also like Huckleberried, the FA flavors are great and generally to me anyway don't require a long steep time at all. A lot of the others have a chemically alcohol like taste right away. I usually heat steep for awhile then leave overnight in a dark cupboard with the cap off. Then cap them and let them steep longer. The aftertaste goes away and the flavors come out but take longer. And like was already said, you have to use so much less of the FA flavors too. There are a lot of them that at 2% are already too much.

Start with what your budget will allow with what looks good to you and continue to grow your supplies.

Right now Inawera might be my favorite overall, haven't had a bad flavor yet. If you like Coconut you have to get INW Cocopilada, I wasn't a fan of Coconut vapes before I tried that. There pretty strong like FA so a little goes a long way.

Flavor West has a few really good flavors as well like Yellow Cake and Dulce De Leche.

The only flavor maker I haven't tried is Flavorah and some of those small flavor shops.

All of the flavor makers have there hits and misses, gotta try them all.

I am with you on the INW Wild Strawberry, I have to amend my previous post as I forgot about that one. I only tried it in one recipe at a very small percentage but it is way powerful and it was all I could taste. Not sure if it is anything I would be able to use except maybe in some sort of fruit punch recipe as it smells like it might fit into something like that.

I just realized I been making all my diy at 6mg nic and I vape 3mg when I bought it. Don't know why I thought 6mg? My brain just imploded, that's why the shit's been all peppery, nic overload!

Ya a lot of people describe it as strawberry pine sol and that's close to how it is. It's just like if you ate a strawberry with green leafs and a lit bit of vine left on it. If I was a tea fan would be perfect like a strawberry chi tea.

I don't get why anyone buys anything but 100mg nic and just cut it with bulk pg/vg it's so much cheaper.

I think they may be afraid to work with it or may have small children or pets that they are worried about. I wouldn't use anything else myself, but to each his or her own.

When it comes to FW all I hear about is Yellow Cake, Tres Leches and Hazelnut (which aren't bad flavors) but FW Blackberry Mojito is my flavorite standalone flavor out of the 190ish I have. I was going to fix that typo and decided against it. Yep, it's my flavorite. All it needed was a little FA Rum to prop it up and round it out.

Inw-fruit (but don't get wild strawberry)
Hangsen- cream
Cap- bakery
FW- caramel candy cherry crush marshmellow
Damn, impulse bought Wild Strawberry on sale but luckily I got a small bottle and haven't tried it yet.

I don't know if this is still true but at one point FW Caramel was one of the best ways to get lots of Diacetyl in your mixes.

To specifically answer the original post - INW, CAP, MF, FLV, FA, TFA, FW - those are the ones I use. All of them have stellar flavors. All of them have flavors that will give you PTSD too. Some of them disclose diketone content and some don't (FW). If you ask us who makes the best XYZ flavors, we can give you tons of great info.

I agree with Huck!

Best (and probably cheapest) thing to do is to pick a recipe you'd like to make and buy the flavors for that. You may save a lot of wasted flavorings that way!

Some places sell the smaller "sample" sizes too.
Until you find the one's you like best.
I spent a lot on getting flavors I don't like in 10, 15, & 30ml bottles.
Then I picked out some recipes to buy flavors for and didn't like the recipes anyhow.
So it can be frustrating sometimes getting started in DIY.
TFA, CAP, Inawera, FA, Hangsen, & FW all have some great one's.
Hard to list because everyone's favorites are different.

I use them all...

XYZ flavors?
Sorry I meant list what flavors you are looking for (strawberry, peach, custard etc) and we can give you some good suggestions on which manufacturer to try per flavor. There are some near-universally agreed upon solid choices when it comes to certain flavors. One manufacturer doesn't nail every single flavor.

Great, now I have to add FW Blackberry Mojito to the list of must try flavors....hehe.
I doubt you will be disappointed. Let me know if you try it. Thanks for the D/AP info for FW! I've all but stopped looking for that these days.

FW Blackberry Mojito is arriving today, any advice on percentages? I don't have any FA rum, actually no alcohol inspired flavors at all, I like the real thing better :D

I forgot about Dulce De Leche from FW, the new one that is Diacetyl free, that is some really tasty stuff.

OK gotcha, makes sense. I definitely have a lot to list. so let me start with. The main thing i like is mixing Fruits and creams.

Ok I gotcha, that makes sense. I definitely have a lot of ideas, so let me start with what I usually like. I really like creams, custards, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla meringue, cheesecake, and everything of that sort. And what i like to do is mix them with fruit. So any fruit that stands out from the rest would be good. Would love to make an amazing peaches and cream, Cherry vanilla something (a cherry that doesn't taste like cough medicine), Banana caramel cream/custard. Just a few ideas for the moment.

Are you concerned at all about Diacetyl free flavors or that doesn't matter to you?

Capella makes one of the best custards but they have 2 versions. I have never used the original Capella Vanilla Custard which I heard is better than the version 2 but the later is very tasty. Capella makes an excellent Sweet Cream which might just replace TFA DX Sweet Cream for me but still experimenting.

I have Capella Vanilla Whipped Cream but I may still like TFA Whipped Cream better, still working on that as well.

TFA has 3 version of Caramel, the original, the DX version and there new Caramel which is one of my favorites. Inawera also makes an excellent caramel but it is more of a background flavor, the TFA version is a little more creamier and pronounced. I have tried almost every caramel that is Diacetyl free, I would skip FA and Capella's versions as they just weren't as good as the Inawera and TFA versions but others might disagree.

FA Butterscotch is tasty, the only butterscotch I have though.

Capella Sweet Strawberry and TFA Ripe Strawberry are the 2 most popular and there good. They tend to get lost in mixes sometimes and take a decent amount of steep time to come out. I actually like TFA Strawberry (not the ripe version) as it may stand out a little more than the other 2 I mentioned. All the flavor makers make a decent strawberry, it all is just up to personal preference. I like to use about .25% of TFA Dragonfruit to make the Strawberry pop a little more in creamy mixes.

I have some different Banana flavors but the only one I have had time to try out so far is Lorran's Banana Cream colorless (they have a version with food coloring you want to avoid) It is really tasty.

If you like Coconut I would really recommend Inawera Cocopilada which is a coconut macroon and one of my favorite flavors. I was not even a coconut fan until I tried that. I think the only place to get Cocopilada is at ECX and Wiz labs, last I checked BCV didn't have it yet.

Not really into Peaches and Cherry so I can't help you there. If you want an apple that will really stand out then FA Fuji Apple will get the job done and is real tasty too.

First off, Thank you for your in depth response. Very helpful, and I'm sure going to be money saving. I'm just getting started with DIY. So I'm unaware of the dangers of Diacetyl. Google time...lol

Diacetyl exposure can lead to bronchiolitis obliterans or popcorn lung. The cases that I know about were from factory workers using it in powder form in popcorn factories so they were exposed to a large amount. I personally choose to try and stay away from it but even if it is present it is still safer than smoking analogs.

I just got it and it sure does smell good. Aside from FA rum is there any other good mixers or is it just great as is?

Thanks for the %, I am going to mix some up this weekend.
