Flavour Art New Blue Caps

Flavour Art need to rethink the new caps on their bottles. I didn't like the orange ones because I've had 3 or 4 where the dropper ended up cracked at the base. I'm assuming because the tip of the dropper would sometimes get forced downward when the lid was put on if it wasn't perfectly aligned, but I don't like the new blue caps either. Just received the Cardamom that I ordered and it shows signs of leaking. I've only recently received two FA flavors with the blue lids.....the other was Strawberry, both from BCV and both put in a zip lock bag by themselves, wrapped and taped. Both showed signs of leakage in the zip lock so that's not a good sign for future orders. There wasn't a lot of leakage and the zip lock wasn't full of liquid, but never the less, they leaked

Edit: I meant to add a kudos to BCV for wrapping the blue capped FA flavors in zip locks by themselves. I'm assuming they either realized that they leak or have had customers report to them that they leak.

I had some come today from fa UK and two had the blue lids and I agree not a good idea no leakage but pain in the ass to get off. The orange ones crack but I'd rather have them. Out of the six bottles I got today two had blue two were orange and two white white ones are the best in my opinion.

Interesting i aint had them yet just orange and the clear and none of my orange ones have cracked i prefer them as they are easy to get of! Never the less for me id rather them not be there atall cuz its a pain taking them off to put the syringe in to then put back on :/ just my opinion lol also hi @richardward77

I don't notice much difference between the blue (I only have a few) and the orange (I have quite a few) - both seem prone to breakage, though the only ones I've actually had leak or seen the necks snap off have been orange.

Is there some structural difference I'm missing?

I believe they are the new replacements for the orange caps. I've ordered FA Strawberry in the original bottle a couple of times before and they had orange caps and different droppers. The FA Strawberry I received a few days ago and Cardamom that I just got today have a total different design and blue color.

Oooooh! I haven't gotten any of those yet. Sounds like child safety stuff, though I wonder why it's necessary on flavorings.

I think the tabs that you pull off are there just to keep the cap locked down for shipping. After you pull the tabs off to remove them, you just lightly squeeze two sides of the cap to open it and it's on a hinge rather than a cap you unscrew and take off.

Hi jason how's it goin with the diy and your lemo 2 iv been off here for couple weeks haven't had internet only had it back today so I'm catching up on the threads I got a new tank today the goblin mini beats the lemo 2 in my opinion maybe because it's dual coil just goes through juice like crazy though.

Welcome back mate yes diy is going alot better now got some capella tjuice going now and also dome of hic mixes so yh finally there using 50/50 is alot easier to control for me.
Yeah lemo2 is better now i have a 50w mod i can get better flavour from it dont use as much as subtank minis tho lol my newest kit is subbox

Ye your not wrong about never having too many tanks. Each one is a learning curve as they require different coil and wicking techniques the goblin is a little tricky as it's so small but got it nailed now I think lol.

Yeah love this kit and yeah ur rite there with the different coils and wicking.
I looked a coolfire and istick 50w and another subtank mini but this kit worked out so much cheaper lol! £50 on myepack.co.uk bargain lol

lol....yeah....that sucks. I mix by weight so it's not an issue. if I were using syringes I guess what I would do is transfer into a different type of bottle. If you were to cut the dripper tip off then you would have to be careful about the bottle staying upright at all times or it would leak fairly badly I would assume.

That's exactly what I'd do, so I never had to mess with squeezing caps, removing tabs, and other HIC-proof child-resistant devices.

Yes. It's the only way to open the top on the new style caps. You completely remove the tabs that lock the cap and then you can open the top hinged lid. They are nothing like the orange caps.

Okay, I got a maple syrup and a couple others with navy blue lids that seemed the same as the oranges. Sounds like these new blues are something I've yet to encounter, though I just fired off a couple of orders a few minutes ago and I think I had some 10 ml's in there - perhaps I'll see.

I ordered direct from Italy, getting both blue and orange. There was some leakage in transit, and from above I'm assuming it was the blue, but the thing that shits me the most as that the drip sizes are different. For 0.1ml the orange takes 3 drops whereas the blue takes 5 drops. I prefer 3 drops as it seems to be the most universal.

No I don't believe it does. I tried to unscrew one, but it didn't budge and I didn't want to risk forcing it too much and breaking the bottle.

Its accurate enough but mine drifts off in weight after bout 2 minutes. It just starts ticking up and up and up. Hit the tare and its good to go again

I think it auto shuts off EVENTUALLY. Never noticed. But no AC adapter only batteries. But its small. It gets the job done for me, but I ma on teh look out for a good deal on the AWS LB501. But the price just keeps going higher and higher on them

the aws lb 501 is back in stock at amazon and it seems the price wars are over. It's only $28 today http://www.amazon.com/American-Weigh-Scales-LB-501-Digital/dp/B005UGBG20 It's better at least than the last few months it seems to have disappeared and I saw them only on eBay. Which had me leery if they even had them at the $40+ they were asking. I'm so close to buying this and switching to mixing by weight.

The back up option I had in mind was the Horizon Ds-19 pocket scale http://www.amazon.com/Horizon-Digital-Pocket-Precision-Jewelry/dp/B006HCAVZO however it looks like this one needs calibration weights to be purchased separately.

mixing by weights is SUPER easy
you need a scale and a funnel which are cheap at BCV

Pop a bottle on the scale with out a dropper hit tare, drip teh flavors in from what ever bottle they came in until they hit the right weight. put the funnel on tare again pour in the nic, hit tare pour in the vg/pg.

Other then that you have to decide if your going to look up the specific gravity of every flavor your going to use and input that into a calculator or just use 1 gram/ml as your ratio for flavoring. If I decided this second to mix up 4x50ml of a flavor I could have it done in 3 or 4 minutes which includes teh time it takes me to get everything out on the desk and load the calculator on my computer and pick my recipe. And There would be minimal though and effort in the process.

I sent bull city an email about some leakage and they replied telling me it's a huge issue with the new bottles and have let FA know about it, seemed mine just kinda seeped out and was wondering if altitude change during shipping caused it but who knows...

I actually ordered some stuff direct last month from FA (kitchen line stuff with nasty nasty DI/AP and a bottle of Joy) and it came with the SOBC (Satan's Own Blue Cap.) Differences may just be stock roatation etc.

All my recent orders from BCV they are packaging all the blue caps separate in zip lock bags and are taped. Seems they know of the issue but what can you do really?? FA is using them for now so seems we have no choice at this point....
