On a side note...I really need to get the white grape and regular apple so I can make some good fruit juices...starting with yours!!!

Thanks Kabalm, I do hope you'll like it. I purchased white grape ages ago, but never found a use for it till I tumbled to this thread. It's not a flavor that I'd vape all by itself. It's definitely more of a mixer. But the real star of the show is JF's Honey Peach. I just love that one, more so than FA's White Peach.

I think that's not melted through. I think that's the "ripped cap" thing a few people have had happen with the bottles ecx is using. I don't know where that thread was, but I don't think it was discussed in this thread. I had a bottle of FA Caramel do exactly that. Crappy bottle - I lost a lot of the contents.

One of my bottles that had a mix in it did that. I happened when I was opening it. The top part of the bottle at the junction of the threaded neck had an opaque, whitish looking ring about 1/16" thick all the way around. This was the result of me pressing down on the cap to engage the child proofing mechanism. Each time I opened the bottle, that area flexed a little. Eventually, it gave way. Now, I try to push down just hard enough to engage the cap without flexing the top of the bottle. I looked at a few of my other bottles and found a few more that looked like they might give out soon, so I tossed them.

I wonder if any of the vendors would give bottles without the child proof caps? Sometimes, like with prescription bottles, they would sure be easier to open! And not all of us have children at home anymore. Yes, I know I can always transfer to my own bottles, but I would have to get the darned caps off to do it.....

They're kind of cheaply made, so they strip out too easily. I wonder if that's why my caramel bottle ripped apart at the top. I had to squeeze the tops to "catch" a grip, but ended up shredding the bottle, lol. I've managed to pop the top pieces off a few, but it was a pain in the butt to do. We're picky DIYers, lol!

Since I never use the Dropper Tops as I use syringes for everything, I dislike having to fight the tops off everything .
So Props to RTS, I like their glass bottles !

I like the access with a syringe, but a few of mine have tops that simply do NOT want to stay screwed on. They magically un-do themselves. So weird! Had to transfer those to regular bottles.

Syringes are accurate, but I find that they are hard to hold steady and generally just a pain to use. For testing the recipes posted here and my own experiments, I just use the drops method. When I find something I like I mix a 6ml batch of flavor only using a graduated cylinder, then refine the amount of it to use in a juice. Maybe I'm not that accurate, but it's quick and "good enough" for my taste.

Dude. Those waves are big!

Beach Balls

4% FA Coconut
3% FA Lime Tahiti Cold Pressed
2% FA Peach
1% FA Jamacia Rum

My take on the standby "Lime in de Coconut"

The coconut and lime. What else?

The White peach. At least I think it is White Peach. I ordered white peach, the packing slip says white peach, but the bottle is labeled Peach. No white in the name. E-Liquid Mart has been know to make mistakes. They once sent me someone else's order. I got to keep it for a token payment and they sent mine the next day. They're cool that way. Anyway, the "Peach" is for it's sweetness. I can't taste peach too well, so in the end it didn't matter.

The Rum. Liquid courage, Dude!

Shake and vape, but better after a day.

Edit: I finally found out that I used FA Peach instead of FA White Peach by ordering both from the same vendor. I changed the recipe to reflect that.

Sounds like something to give you a summer feeling! Bring. It. On! Nice selection of stuff.
Thanks. I grew up on a surfboard and most of our surfing was done in the winter. It takes big storms to push big waves. The summers were for hanging out and... well you know what boys at the beach do. ;)

Hey all! I am on page 100 of this thread now! I wanted to thank everyone for their kindness, helpfulness, encouragement, support, sharing, and time! I only make juice for myself, & recently a few of my daughters friends. Today her friends came over in need of juice and when 1 of them tasted HICs double rainbow he dumped his vender juice down my kitchen sink & filled up his nautilus with it! 2 weeks before this his wife dumped her juice down my sink and filled up with Chickenmonkeys bells of st. Clements! Just to say you all rock way better than most venders! Smoky, my father in law loves the strawberry banana you helped me mix up! I know it's not much, but thank you everyone for everything!

At first glance I thought, "Damn. Another great recipe and I'm lacking ONE flavor", but I read further and I do have FA Peach! Since I'm kind of tired of heavier holiday vapes, I'll definitely be mixing this one soon. Thanks for the beach vacation!

Enjoy it. The peach is mostly to sweeten the mix. I'm really not sure which peach I have since it is the only one from FA I have.

Hello guys! Happy New Year, first of all. My first post here, been a long time learner from this group.

Along with these information sharing about the safety of some ingredients, I do worry that acetylpyrazine do have great potential of toxicity. A quick google scholar search and a close friend with advanced degree in pharmacy do confirm. For all the knowledge you guys have given, it is a risk worth taking to bring up discussion on this.

http://scholar.google.com/scholar?hl=en&as_sdt=0,5&q=acetylpyrazine

This particular paper is open access:

Multiple Mechanisms for Cytotoxicity Induced by Copper(II) Complexes of 2-Acetylpyrazine-x- substituted Thiosemicarbazones
http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/(SICI)1099-0739(199901)13:1<9::AID-AOC818>3.0.CO;2-#/abstract

@yyose , I opened these documents and sat down for a good read; I haven't gotten far but have a couple comments immediately:

* The substances discussed in those links are mostly organometallic complexes of acetylpyrazine with copper, zinc, cadmium, cobalt (etc.)

* I believe the acetylpyrazine we (all? most?) use - from here - 2-acetylpyrazine (CAS 22047-25-2), is not an organometallic complex. That could be confirmed by contacting Linda from TFA (using the 'contact' button at the top of this page). It is the properties of the specific organometallic complexes, perhaps properties specifically related to the metallic part of the complexes, that seem to be the focus of the studies in those links.

* Those organometallic complexes are being produced for testing on tumor tissue, leading me to believe that the wealth of results from your first link are related to experimental cancer treatments. (From that second link, "These compounds were shown to be cytotoxic to a variety of human and rodent tumors in cell culture...").

* There IS existing research on ingestion in live rodents of acetylpyrazine and other pyrazine derivatives, short- and long-term, and they raise no alarms regarding 2-acetylpyrazine (that I have seen yet, anyway). Here's a source that discusses one set of studies on 41 derivatives, including acetylpyrazine: http://www.inchem.org/documents/jecfa/jecmono/v48je12.htm . These are the forms more likely to be found in GRAS (for ingestion) food flavorings, rather than organometallic complexes. The basic conclusion there is "no safety concern" for human ingestion of up to 14mg (or 120mg if they used the less-restictive US guideline; I'm not clear which was applied) per day, based on rodent studies.

* Basically, I believe the complex your friend is referencing (2-Acetylpyrazine-x- substituted Thiosemicarbazones) is NOT the substance we are vaping, specifically due to the part in red. And my impression is that the organometallics are being manufactured for medical research, not used in the food or flavoring industries.

I am not a chemist or pharmacist, so if your pharmacist friend has the time, I would appreciate his/her comments on my initial impressions. And please do not hesitate to point out any facts I might have misinterpreted!

Thank you again for the links!

I have the attention span of a small child and the memory of an old man. I'd lose count or forget how many drops I needed if I tried to do drops.

I can just see it now. "One, two, three,,,,,,,,,,,,,,um, how many did I need? Oh yeah, 30 drops. One, two, three, four,,,,,,,,,,shit,,,,,,,,,,how many drops do I need? Oh yeah. One,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Haha! Yep that's happened a few times to me as well. But I only make small amounts and its worth the risk vs. The clean up to me. I'm lazy.

I also made Spiced Bilberry for a ship mate. HIC's Caramel apple and turned his banana coconut cream pie into a strawberry coconut cream pie. (I didn't have any bananas lol)

What are yall mixing up?

@HeadInClouds Excellent, excellent write up! I sat down and go through the documents available on this subject and really, I found no evidence contrary to what you have said. I admit that I skipped the organometalics complex, not fully understood different synthesis/extraction pathway to produce the material. I apologize, should have been more careful. I have passed along the information as soon as I read your post, but my researcher friend has not replied back with anything other than saying that she is taking time to study the issue. I promise to keep you updated and follow up on this issue until we get clear, satisfactory confirmation.

On a whim, I put together
2% Bilberry
1% Strawberry
1% Coconut
All FA.

Come out pretty nice. I think I like it lol
Zeeli, you didn't give this a name! We need a name! And it sounds very good, got to get to mixing when my flavors get here. Thanks for the recipe.

I called it Bluraz-O-nut, cause I'm not super creative.

Cotton Candy, what do you guys use to make cotton candy? That was one of my favorite flavors, blueberry and cotton candy mixed.

I just use EM (Ethyl Maltol) in place of actual Cotton Candy flavoring.

IIRC, 1/4 tsp. of EM crystals to 10 ml PG yields the desired result.

Hello club members! :) One year ago today I had my last cigarette on my way to local B&M where I picked up an Ego-T with a cheap clearo and a bottle of 555 for $40. I'd say it was money well spent even though the juice was horrible and I could have got the hardware for half price online. :p

I just wanted to share, so I'll also share a recipe that I've been enjoying lately. It's for those that aren't afraid of the dark. ;) @Edd bet you'd like this one.

Off to Never-Never Land
Dark Vapure 1%
Maxx Blend 1%
Cuban Supream 0.5%
Virginia 0.5%
Coconut 0.5%
Papaya 0.25%

Needs to steep for a couple weeks for the papaya to meld in and the sweetness of the maxx to come out.

I was doing a flavor session last week and noticed that a drop of Bilberry, Custard and Oba Oba in some warm water smelled a lot like bubblegum. So I played around with it to turn it into Ice Cream:

Bilberry - 0.5%
Custard - 2.0%
Oba Oba - 0.5%
Vienna Cream - 0.5%
Fresh Cream - 0.5%
Koolada to add the Ice - 0.25%
