In fact, I'm vaping on it now. It can be a bit temperamental, but it's worth working out the kinks. Awesome device, after being mad at it for a week.
Im in day 2 of being mad at it. lol.I'll keep pressing on with it. It just vapes different. and getting dry hits now. cant figure out how to wick it best. ho do you do yours ?

The wicking is the tough part. Too much, dry hits. Too little, leak city. In fact, I posted a thread over in the rebuildables section about it. I had enough wick to prevent air hole leaks, but it would leak like a sieve out of the tip when I filled it. Tonight I put wick in (rayon), and tucked it 1/2 way down the channels. Works great. Filled it without leaks. A little primer, here and there, but it's working almost 100%. I have to prime my Kayfuns once in a while too, so I'm not listing that as a malfunction.

Yeah, but that liquid goes FAST with the dual coils. And I mean FAST. Also, I'm pretty sure it's more like 4.5ml. I haven't been able to get 6 in it. Maybe I'm filling it wrong, although I don't see how that's possible.

I don't exactly have a regular preferred, but I recently discovered custards and love them. Sweets and bakery are what I'm trying to branch out to I suppose, with the exception of TFA Ry4 Double and Inawera 555 Gold. Also always looking for REALISTIC fruits. Haven't came across to many....

Have you tried any of FA's fruits? None of those are candy flavors. If you like real apricots, I think FA Apricot is one you gotta try, if you try only one. If you like lemon - especially if other brands have tasted like plastic or cleaning products to you - Lemon Sicily is another. If you like dark berries but want to try only one, I recommend Forest Fruits (or is it Forest Mix now?) If you prefer lighter fruits, then White Peach instead.

If you like Vienna Cream and sweet/creamy custards - you'll probably like Catalan Cream. It blends well with fruits, bakery, tobaccos, and it's a tasty vape all by itself. I like Fresh Cream with fruits, but if you like sugar-sprinkled fruits, you might prefer Meringue. It's worth getting both if you're into fruit flavors.

Tiramisu is top-notch, if you like bold espresso-dark-chocolate flavor. If you like milder flavors, you'll like it with Vienna Cream, Catalan, Fresh Cream, and/or your favorite fruits.

From what you've said about your preferences, those are the FA flavors I'd recommend for you.

For something nutty but a little different in your tobaccos, FA Hazelnut sure qualifies, but I think you'll prefer the Nut Mix. Inawera Sesame is currently my favorite 'nut' flavor for tobaccos. It really enriches dry tobaccos - a little like adding savory pie crust flavor.

Exactly. Once I mastered one Kayfun, I bought 3 more! We'll see if I end up with another Fogger though. I'm on the fence, and it's time for a new mech (since I haven't bought one in two a months), so I'll need a topper...

Thanks going to add apricot, white peach, and tiramisu the the list.
So far I have
FA Cocoa
FA Chocolate
FA Dark Vapure
(those three mainly for Halo Belgian Cocoa clone)
FA Fresh Cream
FA Vanilla Classic
FA Nut Mix
FA Vanilla Nut Mix
Going to add the apricot, white peach and tiramisu to it. Probably banana too, since what I've had before taste like runtz

HIC, I love your recipes and reviews. I wish you would move over and try INA flavors. I'd love to see your reviews and recipes with these flavorings. And the Russian flavors from VZ....

Just a random whine....

A Grand Master doesn't work with low quality ingredients. :D

Now on a more serious tone, if I had the luck of having someone like HIC doing those recipes and descriptions from INW I could have been an INW fan.
@HeadInClouds natural gift of describing things, alone makes me want to try them.

They don't even make plain creams to mix with. In general, their flavors don't seem as suited to complex recipes as other brands - they don't complement each other well.

That's exactly what I think about it.
I do like some of their flavors as standalone (Peach is really cool @3%) but I simply can't make them work with other flavors.

I thought it was just my n00biness so I'm happy to see I'm not alone :)

Mmmm, tasty looking Cookie :D

I reckon Raspberry and Meringue both improve after an overnight sit. Cookie + Meringue keeps getting better with age, IMO, merging into a really believable sweet cookie (after about a week?). I've got some left of what I thought was a failed experiment, after adding (too much) meringue to my Banana Cookie - for variety I sometimes put a bit of it in the tank with the straight version, and it's really good.

I would try to talk you out of Dark Vapure - even for the Belgian Cocoa - but I had to see for myself, too. It's a 90% clone without it, doesn't need a steep, tastes better, and doesn't repulse bystanders with that rotten socks odor. Save the cost of Dark Vapure for a spare coil; to mimic Halo's strength, Cocoa is messy. At least - make it the tiny bottle of DV.

Non-steeper that I am, I admit Cookie is 'one of those flavors' that can benefit from sitting around a while. I think it's more like biscotti when fresh, more generic cookie base when aged. I like it and use it both ways.

..just being philosophical.. if we all taste flavors subjectively, there would be no point in describing flavorings or making recipes to taste-match specific flavors. How could I call a recipe (for example) "White Tic Tac" if everyone perceived it differently? My descriptions and attempts at flavor matching obviously can be improved - I keep working on it. It's based on my belief that we all taste the same flavors when we eat/vape white Tic-Tacs - though some like it, some don't, and everyone may describe it differently. ...That's what I was trying to explain yesterday. /philosophy mode off

In progress....

3% walnut
2% almond
0.5% meringue
0.5% marshmallow
1.5% cocoa

not bad, but (?) the nuts are subtle.

This has improved overnight, and now has more like the balance I expected from the percentages. The walnut is coming through loud and clear now, lol. Considering diluting my mix a little, maybe 1 or 2ml in the 6 or 7ml I have left, and next time round I'll try with 2.5% Walnut (and maybe still dilute the whole thing a tad).

You might well ask "why not hazelnut, or nut mix?"... I love eating the real thing, but either I don't like FA Hazelnut, or I simply don't like vaping hazelnut flavouring. I get some mustiness coming through (Hazelnut Pyrazine?) too strongly, and it gets worse with steeping (IMO).

we "all" taste things differently..
the zen garden was the best one.. i get a ginger.. gosh knows who all else gets what..

if all of us had hair the same color, fingerprints the same.. taste buds the same..
our world would be so dull and boring.. we would all act and behave the same as the next person..

but taste buds do vary..

over the course of our "smoking" we massacre our taste buds..
they do come back, sometimes on their own, sometimes with help, and sometimes half or none come back..

sometimes its not about taste, smell is a metal thing that does effect taste..

you are trying to give reason for something that can not be helped, here.
it is not about like or not like.. even tho it does have a major swing in things..

what you call a white tic tac.. i might call an after dinner mint.. you perceive it as a white tic tac, while i taste a dinner mint..
i can not help that joe blow down the street gets a peach taste and misses the mango i hid in it..

My descriptions and attempts at flavor matching obviously can be improved - I keep working on it.

Your descriptions are fine.. it is what you perceive.. I can not say you are all wrong.. it is what you taste, smell and believe..

I do not want to change that, HIC.. but it is why i keep saying.. taste is subjective.

Your reviews are good.. most of them are excellent.. if i haven't tasted a flavor you have posted about, it does make me want to try it.. however.. it is all based on you.. and that is ok.. it's what makes us all different.. and different is a good thing.. if i dont get the same exact taste as you do, it is alright.. doesn't mean it is your fault.. it's on my end.. and it is either something I deal with, or learn a new way of taste etc.. Please keep reviewing..

it's just like you believe there are some crap flavors (or flavor lines) out there, so do i.. take lo for example.. perfect for candy and candy type vapes.. they all have their places.. some just not so well used as others.. kind of like tastes :)

I wish i could let you taste what i do.. but it is not possible.. lmao.. but trust me, we all do not taste the same exact thing.. there is no way..

end of my "rant" too.. but I hope no one that reads this, takes it as me ranting.. I am only trying to explain a bit better in hopes who ever reads this, might get what i am saying.. ;)

I agree taste is subjective to a point but at the same time a banana taste like a banana. no matter how you "perceive" the "taste" we all taste the same thing. not like my banana taste different because I am eating it. FA banana taste like a banana inawera banana taste like runts. one person may pick up more "sweetness" but the flavor is the same.

then explain the zen garden.. :D

i could go on and list more.. rather pointless.. the fact is that tastes are not.

i have collected cherry flavorings from all over the world..
my better half can not taste anything cherry at all..

is there an explanation for that?

and i have been trying for a year now.o_O

he comes up with.. it tastes like fresh paper.

Yeah, that.

If you suck on a Tic-Tac and vape my recipe of it, they taste the same. If that weren't true, recipes would be pointless.

Will leave it at: you and I agree to disagree, HIC.. ;)

I do not think you can explain why i taste one thing in a flavor and someone else get another.. an FA flavor that you should know.. the zen garden.
I do not think you can explain why my better have gets paper when it is cherry.. pick one from any flavor company.

and that is ok.. at least.. for me, right now.

Moving right along.. what's everyone vaping this morning? :)

So, to those who like FA Hazelnut... do you taste the same mustiness I taste? Do you like what I dislike, or does it just not stand out for you?

(To be clear, I would really like this flavouring if the mustiness didn't bother me, and it doesn't when eating the real nuts).

vaping is the only place I have heard "taste is subjective" I cook a lot and watch a lot of cooking shows and reading and not once have I heard "taste is subjective" in food. people may like different thing and some do have more sensitive taste buds than others but our tongues all work the same. we have thousands of taste buds but only 5 sensations. sweetness, sourness, saltiness, bitter and umami . I pick up on sour notes more than for HIC. does that mean my FA pineapple taste different that HIC's pineapple ? no . its the exact same chemicals in the same bottles that we vape. mine is a bit more sour tasting to me but we both get the same pineapple flavor and thats why a recipe works. everyone adjust recipes to suit their favorite taste. maybe I want more pineapple and HIC wants more mandarin in the mix to make our favorite version of the recipe. people do not like the same thing and that is a fact or may explain something different but the flavor doesnt change.

I didn't want to get involved at all! The Hazelnut thing has been bothering me for a while. Lots of people seem to like it - RY4 Nutzilla and BYO Nutzilla are two of FA UK's best selling blends, and that's where I first noticed the mustiness. Tried some FA Hazelnut a few days ago, and it's definitely the culprit.

So, Hazelnut Pyrazine is 2,3-DIETHYL-5-METHYLPYRAZINE.

From Fenaroli's Handbook:
Taste threshold values: Taste characteristics at 2.5 ppm: musty, toasted; nutty, potato, cocoa, earthy and dirty.

Natural occurrence: Reported to be present in coffee, filberts, potato products, Parmesan cheese, chicken, beef, pork, cocoa, peanuts,
popcorn, sesame seed and corn tortillas.

No mention of hazelnuts, lol, but it does say filberts... HIC's taste buds can't be too bad then :) And it does say musty....

We posted at the same time, Smoky - not looking to belabor the point. Even scientists who define drinking-water flavor standards argue the points you and I have been making. I enjoy a lively point-counterpoint.

Currently vaping....hm, almost an empty tank. Maybe I'll mix Zen Garden, lol

how's that zen garden, HIC? :D:p

oh.. I am currently trying out my new kraken, on my mech.. standard 18650 batteries.. mnke...
will be adding my sweet fig tobacco.. ;)

if i can get it wicked up the way i want.. half way there! :D
