Has anyone ran into a concentrate or mix that is similar to a run of the mill fortune cookie?

While I have no recipe for fortune cookie e-liquid, if I wanted to make one, I'd ask THe Google for a baker's recipe, then use like flavorings in creating the juice. This was suggested by @HeadInClouds and a course of action I've since followed.

Yes, There are not many concentrates that are basic ingredient. That will make this though. It is only a cookie made with egg, flour, sugar, vanilla, and sesame oil.

Not the same as just making a certain type cake. I have a few more concentrates to get and try. I will look at this idea later.

TFA Rice Crispy may be something to use if there is nothing similar.

Out of my head, I'm thinking of FA Cookies, one of the three FA Vanilla flavors (probably Classic), a touch of FA Nut Mix to imitate the sesame flavor. In addition, at least the Fortune Cookies I had so far, also had a hint of Lemon. Therefore, a hint of FA Lemon Sicily.

Sicily, Is that a weak lemon? How is it compared to the lemon in CAP lemon meringue pie or FE lemon?

IMO, it's a pretty strong Lemon flavor. Therefore, I'd probably start with 0.25-0.5% of the FA Lemon Sicily. I don't know of the other brands, due to mainly utilizing FA flavors.

FA Cookie sounds good.

I am not sure about FA Joy though.

Defiantly Vanilla

If you ever want a really mellow background lemon for a bakery mix the CAP is really good.

Really I was looking for Fortune Cookie because IMO it tastes like the background note of fruity pebbles.
That's why I prefer using FA flavors. A little goes a long way. You just have to know what percentage to use. With CAP flavors, I had to use too high of a percentage. I'd love to see a good Hibiscus. With CAP, or TFA, I have to use around 18%, which isn't good for max VG.

So you use mostly FA,
What flavors do you use for Milk bases with FA?
Is their FA Coconut any good to work with for that or anything like small amounts of FA Almond ?

There are just so many options for a milk base out there it is crazy. I do tons or research on google, forums, and Reddit. I just like to hear opinions from single users in general. Flavors are just so subjective and then you also have no idea how much work some people do to arrive at some of the opinions you see in other places on the net.

The master/guru of FA flavors would be HIC (HeadInClouds). You can search the DIY here for lots of detailed information, and recipes. In addition, you can find out about his "Notes on FA..." at http://mamajsflavorshop.com/headinclouds-my-notes-on-flavor-descriptions/.

I haven't touched the grounds of Milk juices at all yet. I'm still an apprentice in DIY. However, I did learn a lot from the DIY forum here, especially HIC.

Everyone has to crawl before they walk. All any of us can do is read, discuss, and test ideas. I can't wait to see where DIY is at in the next couple of years. It is really exciting once someone has a nice little mixture breakthrough that ends up an ADV for a majority of people.

I hope that in time the Vape scene's rumor and discontent about the DIY scene gets squashed by more and more intelligent people coming along for the ride with us.

While I don't recall sesame in fortune cookies (It's been a while since I munched on one), you're a cook, Neunerball and would know. To that end, Inawera makes and excellent sesame flavoring, one which garnered special mention in HIC's notes.

Thanks for the information on INW's sesame! I didn't know. Do you happen to know of an excellent Ginger flavor?

Actually, not only excellent but the only gingerroot flavoring I'm aware of is Nature's Flavor, available at MamaJ's as The Ginger.

OK, fine. Now I want Chinese for dinner. Hmmmmm .... :)

I@Neunerball, I recalled last night after posting the High Desert Vapes carries the NF line at reasonable cost.

I sure hope you're gonna share that fortune cookie recipe that I'm confident is cooking in your brain right now. :)

I am looking for that type of taste. If I ever come across what combines to make it I will defiantly share, I would never even think about holding back for profit. Sure this stuff takes money, time, and lots of testing. I feel that you guys are just as big of a part of everything I do. That anything I could get from a mix should go to the DIY scene also. The most profitable thing being any recipe its self.

I would hate to know that anyone from the DIY scene would not share and commit to profit of premix only. Sure if they have did it without help I guess, but really half of my knowledge is from threads and recipes from the DIY scene. It would be taking away from the scene and slowing progress.

I can't wait to see what kinds of mixes we have in the next couple of years. Just this year we have had some beautiful little charms given by various members.

I think that a fortune cookie would be a great standalone and also a great undertone for a cereal type mix.The low end fortune cookies taste like Pebbles without fruit or milk to me.

Hey, @trecenters, you'll find that 99% of the community feels the same way about sharing. We're here for the same purpose. Over time, a couple of members (here and elsewhere) were exposed as posers who ultimately used information for profit but individuals with an ulterior motive are a rarity.

That said, HIC wrote a recipe for a sesame candy that sounds great. I have an affinity for sesame so it's high on my to-do list..

Good luck with the fortune cookie. I'm looking forward to that recipe as well! :)

I'm still a newbie in the bakery group, but I was pondering your question. How about:
FA Cookie
FA meringue (the eggy part)
FA Almond or another brand, but just a tad
FA Vanilla (probably classic)
You would need a slight sugary taste too, maybe cotton candy, FA Joy or maybe a hint of honey.
Maybe the sesame flavor would be needed to give it a true Fortune Cookie taste. I never have used that flavor to know for sure.
I have a feeling I'm missing an important flavor or two.
HIC is like a Master in the Bakery Group. I do a mental bow every time I look at his recipes.
