I am getting and fucking tired of all these god damn throwaway fake contest accounts. Like we cant check their history and see what the fuck they posting!!! Once we make rules to prevent only contest posts, what they do? They go post bogus meaningless bullshit!!! Kinda thinking its some of the fucked off forums putting people up to bullshit like this. Hate to say it, but why dont we just make contests for broze and higher. Fuck bringing all the noobies here if all they gonna do is win shit and bouce, force them to stick around and actually contribute to the forum instead of posting bullshit like "Its so cool yall have a seperate area for this and that IN EVERY FUCKING POST IN THAT AREA!!! God damn mother fucker this makes me pissed as hell. I helplessly watched in dismay as this same fucking thing, as well as bunch of ignorant uneducated fucks drove three forums into the ground. People like me ask a question in a thread to educate others. 99% of the time I post a question for help or for advice, I already looked into whatever it is and did the homework but ask it because I feel if I have wondered it or if someone asks me, many others are at that same point and as a community we can help by having the thread for them to see. Asking something like Why wont my parallel mod work with batteries put in series shouldnt be asked by someone unless they Really dont know, and lord curse the vendor who hooked em up wit it without making sure they know how to safely use it. Just tired of watching noobies win shit here only never to log in again. Did see someone who won a item fuck up and give the fact they were using 3 diff accounts away by fucking up which account was making what point of view on some things.

wow i didnt realize all that was going on no they shouldnt have 3 accounts and i dont have a facebook so i cant win stuff anyway i have been reading posts rather than start start another thread on the same thing ive never used forums before but ive been reading a bit and been on for a good three or four months or more some one was kind enough to private convo me to get me up to my first build and owe everythng i learned im very lucky so im starting to participate this board isnt difficult but takes some timeto navigate not sure whats needed to resolve this issue hopefully the administrator of of VU is on it

I agree!!! I checked a few in the "heaven gifts" giveaway and there a a bunch. I think they should be closed as soon as a mod or admin verify's it's a contest account and their IP address blocked.

It would be easy to record ip as a account is created and if more than on is then ban IP permanently. They are trying to get us to use our own judgement but too many ECF fuck wads wanna see us fail and I know for a fact they are doing it. Seen a lot of their names popping up. Just make it Bronze or higher and posts have to be revalant to community. Just go over to heaven gifts, click a noob name and click their post counter. It shows exactly what the posts said and where they were posted. Hell, personally, I need a TC & VW mods (2 in 1 perfect) a new RTA and liquid, could care less about any other giveaways. Just know some of us put in serious hrs helping people and then see fakes swoop in, win shit and bail??? Fucking makes us steam and wanna bail too. Even when I dont win, I wanna see someone who been around longer than a day and not a contest account.

John, you've posted 20x what some in the contest have posted, and if you go look at their post, that's all they do. In the cases I was speaking of they had posted in single digits and every post was to win that particular contest. Even you have to admit that looks shady. I'm sure in some cases its not, but even the vendor on that contest posted that they had noticed "contest" accounts in that drawing. And as @DuckysVapeReviews noted, just limit to one account per IP, or even 2 if you want to allow for husband/wife.

Just had a friend on contest staff check and sure fuckin enough, there has been more accounts created in past week than past month and almost all have yet to contribute to any other threads with anythimg other than "I like this, or that is cool, etc"

And, I appreciate the fact that we have few rules here and prefer it stays that way. The contest host could much more easily check out the "winner". And, apparently some of the vendors are aware of the problem, heaven gifts mentioned it in their thread.

I actually was one of them Heaven Gifts was talking to in PM and at one point they discussed suspending giveaways until a solution came around. You are right, have been only a member for lil over month but I dont personally mind losing a contest. I have won 3 elsewhere in the time I been here as well as was awarded a reviewing agreement with 1 online vendor 1 manfacturer/vendor and 1 manufacturer, also in talks with another manufacturer. My point is, when you have fake accounts winning shit and dedicated people suffering, thats whats fucked off.

Unfortunately there are scammers and turds everywhere looking to stack the deck to win free juice and gear. One of the basic rules VU has is one account per member, if we catch those shitballs with more than one account, they are gone. With over 50,000 registered members, the process to identify the shitballs is a huge one. We are not the IP police, nor do the mods and admins (with a couple exceptions) have access to IP info. It's up to the community to identify these shitballs and let us know. Hope this helps in some way.

I always love the SOB stories contest participants add to their posts.

A few times I was in desperate need if a mod, tank or liquid, asked communities for help One guy finally told me quit crying like a bitch and try to think of a way to make the cash I need before begging. Finally realized what he meant week later. I sold a few things I didnt need or want, got my smpl, my derringer, my twisted messes and 6 vtc4s (over time not right off). Only thing I ever need is liquids now (and maybe a TC/VW mod) but have a handful of autographed cards Imma post on ebay to get cash for one. Dont understand why. People give sad stories thinking somebody gonna rig a contest for a total stranger when they dont do it for even best of friends.

In the past 3 months I have won a bottle of Pink Curie (it was a reviewer only thing), a $25 gift certificate to V Rod (which for some reason doesnt work now) and a 10ml of Phantasm Blueberry Cheesecake and a 30 of Central Vapors chocolate strawberry. I was glad when you won the Heaven Gifts one. It was right after they posted about "contest" accounts! Don't know you, but seen you around here enough to know you weren't one of them! I won 2 in a row that jj2 ran for juice. I just opted not to enter for a while to give others a chance. But, that's just me! Wouldn't expect everyone to do it.

Some forums use a "You must spread more reputation before giving it to ___ again." If it was at >30Likes, some one would need 31 email accounts to make 31 VU accounts to give each account 30 Likes.
Just an idea.. But I do get the whole ECF Policing thing, I read about that here and elsewhere. I got some giggles from the Mudslinging section. Sadly, a few forums I've joined before are "nazi" like that. Those forums also seem to have the most subscribed members, but always never the most active members.

Before even realizing there were contests I posted some decent threads. And I just recently donated to this site. Love this place and it's members. Every forum has scammers and bots. I have won a few contests over the years. Not many to brag about. I usually rehome the things I win. I do try them out. I recently won a Clouper z4 (first hardware win in a few years) and will keep it. I don't have any sub-ohm tanks at the moment.
