Fumytech Navigator BX Problem!

Hey, everyone. Got a problem, hoping y'all could help me out. I bought a Fumytech Navigator BX about 2 weeks ago. After about a week of working fine, it started throwing a short. I took it apart and adjusted the rudder wheel on the positive post. It worked fine for about an hour. Adjusted the wheel again and same issue.

I ended up chalking it up that maybe my wheel was stripped, so I ordered a new rudder wheel. It came in yesterday. Excitedly, I threw it on... same exact problem, only this time it shorted immediately. Did a little Google search and tried to adjust the 510 pin. The moment I tried to turn it, it broke off inside the deck!

I'm gonna attach some pictures to better show what I mean. My question is, is there any way to get the remaining threading out of the bottom of the deck. I'm extremely upset about this. I paid a lot of money for this tank, and for this to happen really pissed me off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't tell too good from the pic you attached, is there part of the 510 pin protruding past the insulator and threads? Are you just trying to unscrew the 510 pin the rest of the way?

I would try using a pair of needlenose pliers. If there isn't enough of the 510 left and it's close to being flush with the insulator and threads but still protruding a little, you might try a small bolt and using a tiny dab of jb weld to attach the tip of the new bolt to the broken end of the 510. Once it cures, carefully spin the new bolt and it should unscrew what's left of the 510 pin with it.

If the 510 is broke off flush or just below the level of the insulator with some of the threads exposed before reaching the broken portion of the 510 pin I'd advise against the jb weld. Just in case it were to spread out a little and seize everything together in one big blob, then the tank is pretty much a goner.

At the very least I'd try contacting the company, tell them what happened. Let them know about the shorting issue, about you replacing the pos wheel retainer and leading up to the broken pin. There's a chance you may have been struggling to patch what's effectively a defect and with the money you spent on it they may have a solution or offer to help take care of it.

Excuse my ignorance. I'm not 100 percent sure what the insulator is. Lol. I'm gonna upload a few more pictures to help my explanation. I do fear that your right about having a defected one out of the package. I did email the company yesterday morning, and I haven't heard from them yet. Maybe they take weekends off. I appreciate the reply, though.

The 510 pin is the protruding bit on the bottom, the center. Usually gold, copper etc. Then surrounding it you have the threads that screw into the mod's 510 connection. Between the center pin and the male threads is a little bit of plastic or nylon type material like a sleeve around the center pin of the atty's 510. That's the insulator, it keeps the center pin (positive connection) separate from the male threads (negative connection) so they don't short.

Chances are that customer service is closed for the weekend, a lot of places it's m-f. Hopefully they'll get your message and respond to you tomorrow.
