In Mexico it is known as "El Día del Amor y la Amistad" (the day of love and friendship). The usual heart and chocolate paraphernalia does appear in stores, but the holiday does not rely on romance alone. It celebrates friendship, and celebrates family ties.
Long live love. If you don't have a significant other, don't feel left out. Invite a friend to dinner, and enjoy a glass of wine. Friends are important too.
