Fused clapton coil wrapping

I've been making my own clapton coils successfully. Been wrapping them using a coil master jig. However when I ventured into fused clapton I have the hardest time keeping the wire compressed when wrapping them with a screwdriver.

Every single time they come out spaced. I'm certain it's the technique I'm using, more practice is needed. Tips or tricks kindly appreciated.

Use more tension when wrapping... I use a coil machine search Artistic Wire Coil Gizmo..... mine is made from a 2x2 block. Rods are 2mm bike spoke 2.5mm coat hanger and 3mm BBQ skewer. Tension is produce by hanging a weights from the end of the wire.

Makes perfect NO squeeze contact coils and perfect spaced coils just by adjusting slope of the rod.

Pull the wire pretty hard when you wrap it. Keep the tension on it till your done.

fold over the ends and pinch them with ur pliers, this way ur fuse wire can't unwrap during coiling either ;)
