Dishonored 2's upcoming expansion Death of the Outsider will conclude the Kaldwin era, so, according to Arkane Studios creative director Harvey Smith, a hypothetical third installment would feature an entirely new set of characters.
Speaking to IGN at Quakecon about Death of the Outsider, Smith discussed how the expansion wraps up the current narrative narrative arc, noting that most of those playing it will "probably be Dishonored fans wanting to see the finale of the arc that we've made."
When asked if this means there won't be a Dishonored 3, Smith said he's not yet certain if there will be more games in the series. "I don't know yet. I kind of hope there are more Dishonored games, but I honestly don't know," he explained.
