The lineup of directors for Game of Thrones' seventh season has been revealed.
Unlike the prior seasons of HBO's fantasy drama, EW reports that only four directors are involved in Season 7, which makes sense given showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss' desire to have two shortened final seasons. HBO still has yet to officially announce that is what is occurring, though perhaps they will during the show's upcoming Comic-Con panel.
Alan Taylor, who directed the final two episodes of Season 1 (including Ned Starks' death in "Baelor"), as well as the four episodes of Game of Thrones' second season -- before going off to direct Thor: The Dark World and Terminator Genisys -- is returning for Season 7. Additionally, Jeremy Podeswa, the director behind the Season 5 episode "Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken" and the Season 6 premiere "Home" will return.
