Hello vapers im making my first DIY list so bare with me and help me complete it.
Im thinking mixing e juice by weight
Im thinking making 100ml of juice at for starters
Here is what im buying
The pg and vg i get from hydavape 1L each(heard usp grade is good or something along these lines)
Now since im new im assuming i need couple 10ml bottles to make sample taste untill i get what i want and make a 50ml or 100ml bottle of ejuice.
Where can i purchase glass bottles?or plastic will do?
I have gloves and a scale that reads up to 500g

I want my e juice to be 70/30pg with 3mg of nicotine so i need help as to where or what kind of nicotine to purchase.(i am in canada)

What else would i need?
For flavors i heard FA is good but expensive?i think i will stick to FA for starters but i need to find some easy recipe to make.
And ive seen unflavoured base mix what is that?do i need it to make my ejuice?

Mixing by weight is the way to go. Your scale goes up to 500g but does it go down to .01g? Thats the important part.

You can get some 10ml bottles, but unneccessary. Can just make your 10ml sample into a 30ml bottle. Or 50ml bottle.

Some swear by glass. I just use plastic dropper bottles. Cheap and easy to use.

As far as type of nicotine, there are a few things to consider.

First, you will want a concentration higher than your 3mg/ml desired juice. I use 60mg/ml and make juices from 4mg to 24mg with it. The more concentrated, the cheaper shipping it will be, plus it takes away some limits of what you can make.

Second, i would get nicotine in 100% pg or 100% vg. I use nic in vg. I mostly drip so high vg is my goal. Some say pg nic is easier to work with and lasts longer. IDK. Vg works for me. Just get a few 4 oz squeeze bottles for pg and vg and nic. Especially since you will mix by weight. Imho it is easier for me to figure formula of vg to pg if the nic is in one or the other.

Not exactly sure what unflavored base means. But if you have pg, vg, and nic solution, then you are good.

Flavors is where it can get interesting. Yes, FA makes great flavors. But, so does TPA, Capella, Inawera, Flavorah and probably others. All of these companies also make less than desirable flavors. You will accumulate a stash of flavors. Most likely of all the brands I listed. I would go on a site that sells flavors and filter for best selling. Might be a good place to start. Eliquidrecipes.com is a great resource. Find a few highly rated recipes that intrigue you and order those flavors to start. Typically all fruit flavors are shake n vape while most custards will need a 2 week plus steep time. More like a month. So I would start with fruits.

I would seriously argue against making 100ml of a recipe to start. Mix samples first because, if you don't like it, it's probably all waste.

You'll need:

A scale that goes down to 0.01g or lower.

PG

VG

Nicotine (I'd recommend the smallest bottle of 100mg/ml you can find. I started with 120mls and am still using it. If you're mixing at 3mg, 120mls will make 4,000mls of finished juice. Yes, 4 liters.

Flavors. I use PG based flavors as they're more readily available and temper the high VG of my base.

Bottles to mix into (easiest way, just make it right in the bottle).

Beakers or cylinders to mix base. Easiest way. I mix 20ml PG to 80ml VG in a 100ml cylinder and store in squeeze bottles.

I still prefer to draw my nicotine precisely by ml in a syringe. For this reason, and to temper the high VG base, I use PG based nicotine.

Possibly you will need funnels to transfer your base from beaker/cylinder to bottle.

I bought all of my start up stuff from Wizard Labs as they have the broadest selection of hard and soft goods. With the single exception being my scale, which I purchased of Amazon, the LB-501 Digital.

Since you're in Canada check out this thread for sources. http://vapingunderground.com/threads/diy-in-canada-where-do-i-go.151290/

Pick out some recipes in the recipe sub-forum that look good to you and just buy the flavors to make those recipes. This will save you money in the initial start up. HeadInclouds (HIC) has recipes that are mostly FA and are very tasty.

USP stands for united states pharmacopeia. Vg/Pg labeled with usp makes it us pharmaceutical grade and fda certified. Usp Labeled fcc grade or usp verified not at usp grade. Pharmaceutical grade has higher standard than food grade. Everyone diy different personally haven't met anyone just buying vg/pg cause it was cheap or covenant.

well to me when I hear the term base it means the base Nic at whatever percentage you work with.
since my goal is for max VG but not 100 percent VG. I go with a Nic in 100 VG at 72 to 100 mg per m/l.
I then mix that down into 36mg into 10/90 ratio. I have zero Nic PG and VG so I can tweak to my liking.
that 36mg 10/90 is then mixed into my flavorings and end up with anything between 80 and 90 VG.
