Getting fed up with squonker

whats up guys,

Okay I have the Hotcig rsq. Right off the bat I was told the bottles that come with it suck, so I purchased some coil master bottles.

Here’s what’s happening

If I fill the bottle with the cap off, when I go to screw the top back on juice comes out of the tubing.

If I fill the bottle through the tubing it comes right back out of the tubing.

If I fill the bottle through the 510 pin (using a blunt tip syringe) it again comes right back through the top.

I’ve tried squeezing the bottle and releasing as it fills. I’ve tried everything

I’ve wasted a ton of juice and I’m to the point where I’m just using the mod like a regular dripper because it’s such a pain. I don’t know if I have the tubing the wrong length or what I’m doing wrong here

While I do not have an RSQ - I've owned over 50 other squonkers so know a little about the bottles, lol

The tubing should go straight to the bottom with no curve, and the bottom should be cut at an angle.

The bottle cannot be filled to the very top, and there needs to be room to for tubing displacement

Hope this helps :)

Every one of these problems is caused by a pressure that is greater in the bottle than is found in free air. That's part of the problem I noticed with the very soft silicone bottles. Just handling them carefully can cause leaking; whether screwing that top cap on or installing the bottle in the mod. If you touch it with your fingers hard enough to get a grip on it, then it builds up pressure and squirts.

If the top cap is metal, you may be able to grab the bottom metal portion with needle nose pliers while screwing down the top portion. This prevents you from squeezing the bottle even the slightest amount while capping.

Don't fill the bottles completely full. It may help to pull the tubing out (or up and almost out) before handling. That way a small pressure increase will only output air from the top of the bottle. Slide the tubing back into the bottle slowly when finished capping. When inserting the tubing, don't squeeze the tubing or place your finger over the tubing end; this will only create an 'air pump' out of the tube.

Filling upright through the tubing will be a real pain in the ass. Same goes for trying to fill with a syringe through the 510 pin.

You speak of using the 510 connection and squeezing the bottle before filling. They make filing bottles with 510 connections that fill like this. If used properly, they can work very well, preventing the above problems.

When inserting a bottle into the mod, use needle nose pliers to handle the bottle via the metal cap (if possible). Use a blunt instrument such as a small screwdriver or a pair of needle nose pliers to slide the tubing up onto the 510 pin, and use the same pliers on the cap to place the bottle in the mod.

Does this all sound like a pain in the arse? It gets very easy over time.

Here is the real question: did you get the advice you need from any of us???

Yeah definitely. I’m gonna use the stiffer bottle that came with the rsq for a while. Also considering picking up the 30ml squonk refill bottle that screws into the 510 to see if that helps me out.

If you get such a bottle, choose one with an insulated 510, or stay well away from your fire button when you refill. Even though the RSQ is regulated and should have hard short circuit protection, better not to rely on it.
The Lost Vape refill bottles are pretty good: https://www.fasttech.com/products/3021/10035558/8952215

Lucifah's advice is spot on - it's best to just remove the battery when refilling squonkers with refill bottles - even if it is insulated

If you decide you can’t get into it, put your RSQ up for sale here on the forum. I believe one went up yesterday and sold in 30 sec.

Someone just posted in the Bonkers thread that Breezy has them up for $51 new

Really? Dang maybe I can get that blue one ive been wanting... wait no, my wife would shoot me.

I’m in the exact opposite boat as the op. After getting the RSQ, all I want to do is squonk and never go back.

If I remember right, she's the one who started it :D

I did it guys lol

I switched to the hard bottle that came with the rsq, I was able to fill it and hook it up without spilling a drop.

The cap feels like dollar store quality but it sure beats spilling juice all over. I’ll rock this one for a while until I get brave enough to try the other bottles again.

One thing I find interesting is the bottle “just barely” fits.

Like if there was no tubing the bf pin that comes down could easily make contact with the metal cap.

I was in the same boat, the bottle makes all the difference to me. I prefer silicone bottles but that's just me. That and having a solid RDA to boot helped (Hadaly).

My Hadaly sat on the shelf until I finally got a squonk mod and now I probably use it 80% of the time.

little blue screw driver in the tube before u remove the cap, fill bottle short a couple mm, lightly squeeze the bottle as you screw the cap (with screw driver still in it) on then pull the screw driver. I have 2 rsq and 3 mechs and no issues if u follow those steps.

edit to add: I am still using the stock bottles but do plan on getting some coil master gremlins as I hate the rsq bottle caps and small opening when refilling.

Just to remind folks - forest/trees issues - You can always hit yer local model aka R/C model shop for silicone fuel line.. There are at least 2 sizes, and I think 3 is more honest.. I coopted a silicone bottle from my Hugo kit and needed more tubing to drop it smack into the Gbox. I even bought some SS 1/8" tubing, but it's not necessary. Just cut a V notch in the end of the tube that sits in the bottle. I think I "wasted" about 1/4" total in the final fitment.

Yes - but some were hand made for me and are not branded by a company though
Okay you can't possibly rotate between all of them. Can you? Are you human? Some strange gene of genius we have yet to understand?

Ohh some are just to be pretty to look at I suspect :)

The only one I consider too pretty to vape is the stab Woodville - photos do not show how stunning it really is - I vaped it for a few days and then freaked when something got on it. The Underground I worry about and won't take it out, but vape the daylights out of it - it squonks and vapes so well I will take my chances, lol

Some strange gene of genius is the correct answer

My quit date was December 1, 2010.
I have never owned 43 mods total.
Not even close.
Probably less than 20.
But that collection definitely doesn't seem like a waste of money.
To each his own...
I'd give a homeless person my extra cash before I'd own 43 of anything.

A person can do both ;)

I grew up a ward of the state, have been homeless and grew up in a state of poverty many people have no idea exists in America. I got to where I am by many trials of fire - and have never once forgotten where I come from buddy

When the FDA passed regulations threatening my right to vape, I took action instead of sitting back hoping it would change - in fact the only change that has occurred is a five-year delay so frankly, there will be no feelings of guilt on my part

IRL me and my family volunteer and give a lot back to those without; in fact, our home is a sanctuary house - the front door is never locked so that if anyone runs into trouble out in the middle of nowhere, there is shelter for them in an emergency

Vapewise, I have given away close to a thousand dollars worth of gear - quietly and without fanfare - it is between me and the person in need

Hell, I even give to people not necessarily in need but who could use a good deed

So I won't judge how you live your life and if you judge mine, it's your hang up, not mine

Lucy grew up poorer than I but I grew up in a poor large poor working class family.
hand me down clothes and if lucky a winter and summer pair of cheap shoes.

When I left home at 18 ALL of my toys and such would fit in one footlocker. And that is from my entire life up to that point.
I had given my bicycle to my younger sister. Worked all summer putting up hay and such for a neighbor to buy that used bicycle.
worked 40+ hours per week in my last 2 years of HS after my dad died.
Graduated and worked my way thru 2 years of tech school. 30 hours + of classroom per week and 40+ hours of work per week.
No one ever bought me a car.

I have never sold any vape stuff. LOL who would buy Kanger mods anyway :)
Have given away quite a bit.

I grew up in a big fancy house surrounded by toys, tv’s and junk food. I’m not a better person for it, that’s for sure.

:bliss:

Honestly, most of us squonkers are great people no matter where we came from - and we are some of the most generous people - I've seen it many, many, many times

I only posted the photo because someone acted like an asshole and implied I was dishonest about my experience
