The upcoming live-action adaptation of Ghost in the Shell has moved from Disney over to Paramount.
According to Variety, the release date for DreamWorks' anime-to-film adaptation has not been changed following the shift and is still on track to open on March 31, 2017. The outlet also notes that Paramount is co-financing the film.
Ghost in the Shell will star Scarlett Johansson as female cyborg Motoko Kusanagi and Game of Thrones actor Pilou Asbæk as Batou, Kusanagi's second in command. Rupert Sanders is directing the film, with Jonathan Herman writing the script. Both Avi Arad and Steven Paul will produce.
