I was a little intimidated I won't lie, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I got my tugboat v2 in the mail today (big thanks to vapor DNA, really quick shipping) and I really like it so far. Since it's my first I don't have any others to compare it to, but it didn't hinder me at all as far as being able to build on it. I watched a ton of videos and read every review I could and every one of them talked about how tight the tolerances were, Flawless must've fixed those problems because mine isn't that bad. It is snug, but it's useable. LOVE the drawl on this thing. I'm not a big fan of super loose airflow though, so it's great for me. I've never messed with the floating pin in my ipv3 li but I had to tighten it to get the rda to sit flush, the 510 pin does stick out pretty far. Still, the last 1/4-1/2 turn is a little tight and I have the pin screwed down as far as it'll go in my mod. I don't like tightening down past where it starts having resistance like that but it's still working fine.
I started out simple, and went for a single coil build, 26g kanthal around a 2mm screwdriver, 6 wraps. I was shooting for around .6 ohms, but it's reading .73, which is fine but I'm not sure why it's that high.
I can't get to many hits before it's starts getting dry because I don't think I put quite enough cotton in. It's snug going through the coil, but I should've left it a little longer. Oh well, it's a learning experience. I do have a question about wicking though. I've seen in videos where the reviewer/instructor adds small pieces of cotton in spots in the drip well. This is probably a dumb question, but will juice that gets absorbed by cotton that's not attached to the coil get vaporized? Could I put anther piece of cotton in to get more hits? Thanks for the input on this.
Overall I'm really liking the tugboat and building coils. Next time I think I'll try out dual coils.
