How's it gonna stop ? Have you come up with a mental health cure ?
Please don't say you want to take every law abiding citizens rights away to stop mental defectives from mass killing ! Only a child would think that would work .

EJ is right that the country needs to unite, but it needs to unite behind traditional American values, not a misguided communist manifesto. We are not giving our guns to a Government that is shooting us in the schools, at concerts, and in nightclubs EJ. If that's your idea of uniting, you better pull your head out of your ass and wake up. It is the right's steadfast defense of the 2A that is keeping us all alive! If the 2A falls, so does the country.

Didn't take long for YouTube to wipe that Ollie Dammegard video huh? Why do you think that is EJ? Can't have people pointing out that the government is killing children to repeal the 2A now can we?

I gotta ask ej, have you ever even shot a gun before? If not, I suggest you go to a gun range and at the very least, shoot one before you espouse that everyone else give up their rights to do so. They should have guns that you can rent for a modest fee.

I would also suggest you do a little research on victims of violence both domestic and otherwise and gain a wider perspective. If you are expecting the police to be able to protect you should the need ever arise, I'm afraid you are going to be sorely disappointed. If you ask them, I'm pretty sure they will readily admit that police are almost exclusively reactionary as opposed to preventative.

I have helped several women learn how to shoot because I care about them and I want them to be able to defend themselves if necessary. I'm not trying to be sexist here but a 120 pound woman is simply no match for a 200 + lb man intent on hurting her in most circumstances. I have recommended and given a book by this author to a few women; it's a good read coming from someone who initially was very anti-gun.

http://www.paxtonquigley.com/?page_id=9

Another thing to keep in mind is that people who successfully thwart or prevent an attack on themselves by being armed doesn't make it into the news ... you only hear about cases where guns were used for nefarious purposes because that garners more attention naturally.

Just something to consider. :)

No, you don't need AR-15s to defend yo self. Ideally, you need M16's, M60's, M2's, Stingers, Artillery, Tanks and whatnot.

As Waco proved.

But, AR-15's are better than nothing at all, if needed. :)

GOOD POINTS? SHARED!

Conspiracy theories are dangerous for many reasons. Among other things, they provide a way to reduce mental distress by changing our perception of a problem without actually doing anything to solve the problem. They're the mental equivalent of a pacifier.

Spreading conspiracy theories about Trump using hidden codes to signal that he's closing in on a secret plan to break up child trafficking rings isn't just absurd — it's harmful. It lulls people into complacency & lets them feel like they're helping when they're doing nothing.

Conspiracy theories also lead to a dangerous cycle of scapegoating because the regressive logic of conspiratorial thinking can only be maintained by implicating an ever-expanding group of "conspirators" involved in the conspiracy and/or the "cover-up".

Conspiracy theories are appealing b/c they claim to provide explanations for otherwise inexplicable or uncontrollable events. But this comes at a cost. Maintaining the belief leads to 'crippled epistemology' — a rigid style of thinking that rejects disconfirming information.

Conspiracy theories serve a palliative function by allowing people to attribute external events/circumstances to some person or group, which produces a sense of control over one’s environment (b/c the risk is less random when it’s attributed to a powerful, nefarious actor).

Social motives also drive people to believe in conspiracy theories. They allow people to maintain a positive image of the self & social group by formulating their own understanding of reality. This also comes at a price. It turns the "outgroup" into an enemy.

That's where scapegoating comes in. Instead of looking for real answers to problems, people who are invested in conspiracy theories identify "enemies" and blame the problem on them. Ultimately, inflicting punishment on these "enemies" becomes the goal.

And that in turn, allows people to feel like they're solving something when in fact, all they're doing is putting a bandaid on their own mental distress. And because the bandaid stops the bleeding, people no longer feel that they need to take meaningful action.

For example: Believing in 4chan conspiracy theories about Trump secretly dismantling child trafficking rings lets people feel okay about doing nothing to end child trafficking. And it lets Trump supporters feel morally superior for "caring" about child trafficking.

(Research shows that collective narcissism and belief in conspiracy theories often go hand-in-hand. Hence the appeal of using a conspiracy theory to bolster feelings of group superiority.)

On a related note: This is also why it's harmful to believe in grand conspiracy theories about Trump's impeachment being imminent or certain. It's not. And believing that it is reduces the sense of urgency to vote & engage in other civic actions.

Society depends on trust in shared sources of knowledge. Much of what we "know" is based on the testimony of others, rather than firsthand experience or observation.

For example: Most of us have never seen Antarctica. But we know it exists b/c we trust in the knowledge & testimony of others. This is true about nearly all of our collective knowledge.

Conspiracy theories ask you to discard this trust.

Functioning societies depend on shared, socially-mediated sources of knowledge. It's the glue that holds societies together. Conspiracy theories ask us to give up more & more of our trust in each other, and in our knowledge-generating mechanisms.

Conspiracy theories come at a cost.

They ask us to give up on our trust in knowledge, in knowledge-producing institutions, and in each other.

And so ultimately, they ask us to give up on the fabric of society altogether.

Sure is a lot of words to justify why an honest examination and discussion of facts behind events must be suppressed lest the GOYIM come to a singular inescapable and inconvenient conclusion. After all they might actually unite the country to fight the real enemy if they were actually allowed to view the facts.

That’s all I’m saying!

I understand how that might seem reasonable to a non gun owner but the truth of the matter is it's a very slippery slope. A AR15 is nothing more than a rifle, a military 'styled' rifle. The anti-gunners have made 'assault' style rifles out to be some kind of demonic weapon capable of inflicting injury just by it's mere presence. If they get their way they will want to ban any rifle capable of firing more than one round without reloading and that encompasses a whole lot more than just the AR15. They wouldn't stop there either, that would just be the beginning.

Guess what they will want banned next when another shooter uses a handgun or a shotgun ...

OMG. Take away our shoe laces and belts before we start strangling each other. No more canned corn either. Everything can be used as a weapon. It all depends on each individual's likelihood and ability to do it.
