I don't know how many of you may have tried Charlie Nobile's Custard but it is more of an eggy type custard. It isn't very sweet at least to me and surprisingly I really liked it considering I like sweeter vapes. I was transferring some 4oz flavoring into smaller 30ml bottles the other night and one of those was Capellas cake batter. As soon as I took the cap off I knew it smelled identical to Charlie Nobles's Custard. Now this wasn't intended to be a clone but I wanted that eggy note. So far I really like it. I would love to see what anyone else thinks of it if they mix it up.

2.5% CA Cake Batter
2.0% CA Vanilla Custard V1
0.5% TPA Kentucky Bourbon
0.5% FA Coconut
0.5% FA Fresh Cream
0.5% FA Vienna Cream
0.5% Catalan Cream

Total Flavoring 7.0%

I am going to try another batch without the bourbon or coconut and could probably get away without the fresh cream now that I added the other two creams. It is still a work in progress. I am really digging it though with this mix.

After vaping it for the last day I am not crazy for how much cake batter and vanilla custard I used. I am going to tinker with it some more. Will definitely update as I tinker with it some more.

Just FYI: Recipes like this (with Vanilla Custard & or Rich Creamy type flavorings) absolutely NEED at least 2-weeks MINIMUM steeping. Capella Vanilla Custard changes DRAMATICALLY after about 2-3wks, before that its very muggy/muted & even kinda perfumy. So when you mix recipes using these kind of flavorings don't even bother sampling it for at least 2-weeks (1-week minimum but for me its 2-wks), it will essentially be pointless as the flavor will change so much after the 2-3wk point you would think its a different juice.
I've been trying to perfect a Creamy Vanilla Custard recipe for about a year now (even longer I think) but the steep time required makes it a TOTAL PITA! I'll mix a 20-30ml test batch & won't know if its good or not for 2-3wks, so it can be VERY frustrating.

If anyone has any good, tried & true DIY Recipes (that you made yourself) to share then PLEASE post them in the new "ADV Worthy DIY Recipes Thread" I just started. Thanks in advance for anyone who contributes.

You are definitely right about it changing. Even after one day it changed a lot. I have a hard time steeping any juice but a good custard would be worth it. I took what was left from the 20ml I made and set it to the side to forget about it and I will revisit it here in another two weeks. I have some ideas for another batch and will make another 20ml and set that one to the side. I just wish my taste buds would cooperate more often and let me taste the different nuances more.

This got me to thinking also how Capellas Vanilla Custard would holdout with speed steeping in a crock pot? Just in the day and a half and with 5 hours of that time being out in warmer humid weather when I was out and about the batch I made went from a very light yellow color to a golden, light red tinted caramel color.

Many here use the crock pot method for helping speed the VC along, but still may need a few days to sit.
But it does cut down on the steep time significantly.

Thanks for sharing this recipe! I was pleasantly surprised how good it is not even after 24 hours after mixing - it's bound to get even nicer after several weeks to a month! I mixed it exactly as posted and like the addition of the Kentucky Bourbon. I was skeptical on it at first, but it's a nice touch! I like that this recipe doesn't add caramel like so many recipes do. I love caramel, but I prefer to have a ton of vanilla flavor. This still has a bit of caramel but the vanilla comes through, as well as the Kentucky Bourbon.

I'm not positive it's going to be my end-all search for the perfect custard vape - then again, I doubt I'll ever quit searching! :) What I am certain of though...I'm going to make a large batch of this so at least some of it might actually see a proper steeping!

Thanks again! Nicely done!

I am still searching for that perfect custard as well... When I can create Charlie's Custard repetitively I'll be in heaven...
