DC Comics played up the new blood in their The Upstarts panel, which featured Lee Bermejo, Tom King, Steve Orlando, Mark Russell, Bab Tarr, James Tynion, Cameron Stewart and Tim Seeley.
Fellow creator Brenden Fletcher moderated and began by mentioning the somewhat ambiguous title of the panel. He then took to the books, beginning with the Black Canary series he's currently working on with Annie Wu. Talking of how her supporting role in Batgirl (also written by Fletcher) lead into her own series, Fletcher described the title as "A Kung Fu road trip." He likened Dinah's stint as band lead to Clark Kent's own day job, and went on to discuss what we can expect in upcoming issues. "The first few issues will focus on what this band is and how they can stay together," Fletcher explained. "In issues #4 and #5, someone new will take the stage and maybe this will be the next new villain for Black Canary."
