GS Air 1.5 Ohm Coil Longevity?

GS-Tank on a Joyetech eVic-VTC Mini. I've been running the 1.5 ohm coil at 20W. Put it in the tank last Friday, about this time. I'd say I've been through about a tank-full of 70/30 PG/VG juice in that time. I'd get the occasional off-tasting vape, but now they all taste... well, I guess that must be a burnt taste? Even though I've now turned it down to 19.5W.

I'm wondering how long I should expect these coils to last? One tank-full, which is a mere 3ml on this tank, doesn't seem like much. Coil is rated for 8-20W. Maybe running it at the rated max is too much?

As a coil reaches EOL: Does it snap, crackle and pop more? Because this one always has, but I think it's doing it more, now.

I don't think any coil should only last a 3ml tank, especially at such a low wattage. Are they all from the same pack?

Only on the 1st coil. I since dropped the wattage back to 14W. Much less SCP, and all the vapour & taste I need. Perhaps I was running it too hot?

I think my coil is fine.

I don't recall the exact progression, but... I started out at 16W with the 1.5Ω coil. Somehow along the way I eventually ended-up at 20W. I had noticed that if I vaped too frequently I'd occasionally get a bad taste. (Burning, I suppose.) Then, yesterday, I updated my eVic-VTC Mini's firmware to from 1.1 (?) to 1.3. After that: Nothing but bad vapes at 20W. Thought "Coil's is done for already?" Then I got to thinking "Hmmm... Coil is rated 8-20W. Maybe I should try it mid-way?" So I set it to 14W and it's fine.

Keeping mine right at 15W I get none of that, still using the first 1.5 that came with it, been about 2 weeks now, used the tank and coil on about 4 mods so far.All at 15 W

Yup. I get none of that at 14W, either.

I tried bumping it to 15 and 16W. Didn't notice much change in vapour taste or volume, but, at 16W, in particular, I did notice increased warmth.
