Hi there! I'm relatively new to DIY'ing having started a couple of months ago. I started with all TFA flavors and had mostly mistakes and some spectacular duds (including one that tasted overwhelmingly like almond hand soap, I still barf in my mouth a little when I remember that one!) until I discovered Hangsen, Capella, Inawera and Flavourart (so much easier to work with!)

Mostly I've been working with single flavors, getting percentages dialed in, but now I'm progressing to trying out some mixes! The Lychee/Coconut/Vienna Cream blend came out nice, but with my new Hana Modz, at 20 mg, it is like getting stabbed in the throat with a hot poker, so definitely time to dial back the nic, and maybe up the VG. Last night I mixed Capella Sweet Guava at 10% (50/50 PG/VG w/12 mg nicotine) and it seems fairly spot on. It has a slight grassy note, which I can see some people might find unpleasant, but I think it adds a bit of realism to the flavor.

Anyhoo, I was thinking the Capella Guava would be a good candidate to mix with some berry flavors. I was thinking the following, does this seem to be in the general ballpark of what I am trying to achieve? I'm looking for the Guava and Strawberry to be dominant, with accents from the Ripe Strawberry and Black Currant...

Capella Sweet Guava 8%
Capella Sweet Strawberry 6%
TFA Strawberry Ripe (for the top note of the berry) 4%
FA Black Currant (for added complexity) 1%

I haven't tried the FA Black Currant yet as a standalone, so I'm concerned it might take over this concoction. Should I go lower, say 0.5%?

This forum looks awesome! Less of a TFA love-in than other websites.

Cheers!

The blackcurrant is delicious I used it in my ribena recipe, that I posted. It is quite strong. You may want to cut your % down a bit and taste test and increase them as needed.

Here is where I ended up with the recipe- came out pretty tasty!

TFA Strawberry Ripe 6%
Capella Sweet Strawberry 6%
Capella Sweet Guava 4%
FA Black Currant 1%
EM 1%

After tasting the single flavor mix of the guava, it became aparent that it needed to be dialed down a bit. At first the TFA Strawberry Ripe was dominant, but that calmed down after a few days and we are left with a nice strawberry guava blend, both flavors seem to be in balance. For the next round, I'm going to up the FA Black Currant to 3%, still needs a little umph and I think that should do it. The mix as it stands is quite solid though!

I don't have FA Black Currant so i made this following the recipe but instead of black currant i used 2% TFA Marshmallow and OMFG this is the best fruit vape i've ever created and all my friends agree. This is now a lot of my friends fav ADV. Only downside is im constantly making this for friends now lol. I suggest you give it a shot. THANK YOU for the great recipe and i'll be sure to try it with black currant when i get it. Vape on vapers!
