Hi gang! Haven't been around for a bit due to step son dragging me out fishing almost everyday...OK, that's a lie, I go willingly 
Also I've starting building my own coils and have been doing a lot of research and experimenting. I finally have the hang of a basic dual coil build, but I just need to learn some of the finer points. I never thought I'd be building coils due to some health issues that affect my fine motor skills, but my doc put me on some meds that have really helped in the past week. It's a wonder what prednisone will do for arthritis. I have at least 90% less pain in my joints and almost that in my back and neck. My wife made me finally go to the doctor for the pain. You know the type, would rather endure the pain rather than go to the doc, well that's me. I'm glad I did now.

Good day all...great day fishing yesterday. Step son caught this nice one
All I caught was a bunch of crap...pie. Seems I always get the shit end of the stick. Caught about a dozen of them. I'm getting a break today, SS has a baseball game this evening.
Found out yesterday that I was taking too high a dose of that prednisone. My BP went through the roof while we were in the middle of the lake. Had to play it off so as not to scare the boy. I got home and my wife checked my BP and it was 153/98, she immediately gave me one of her valiums and took away my Pepsi...BITCH!
She's like, "You're not having another stroke on my watch"

Kinda sums up my day and the extra meds needed to get through today's staff meeting. I'm listening to people that have been doing what we do for quite a longer time than I...and I wonder, who ties their shoes for them. I'm mean really, They were trying to do some logistics for fall classes to balance out schedules and fit time tables. They went on for 30 minutes before I interrupted and gave them a solution. They stared at me for a little while and all were like, "yeah, what he said". I guess I should've spoken up earlier...30 minutes of my life I'll never get back...sigh

I attended a few school board meetings here. First of all, I don't understand how a bunch of people that have no experience in the education field can tell a system what to do. Secondly, they are simply making business decisions for the most part, however, these idiots make hiring decisions for teachers based on recommendations and have never even met the candidates. The funniest part of the whole thing is that last year the current superintendent stepped down and the county started advertising for a new one. The article stated the usual BS and ended with, get this, "PhD preferred"...HUH???
I've never heard of a school superintendent without a PhD required.But the meeting I was referring to was at the college I work at. I've found that a lot of the people at the top have been in the world of academia their whole life and have no clue as to the "outside world" and, therefore, common sense has waned in their lack of understanding anything outside the walls of the institution. They can only wrap their minds around what is "educational" and anything beyond the realm of that is total foreign to them. I received an email last night from one of the deans offering me a position to be on the department "logistics" team. Uhhhhh, I didn't go to school forever to make schedules that someone else should be doing. I'm not above that mind you, but really? I'm the low man on the totem pole, yet they want me to be their problem solver...I'M NOT EVEN TENURED! I'm a "contract employee" on an at-will basis. I'm just hanging in there until my wife finishes her schooling and I can move on...It was so much easier when I was just teaching online classes and went to campus once a week for my required office hours.

Oh yeah, I just had to comment on Hank's new avatar. I just saw Deadpool over the weekend and that is the funniest fucking movie I've seen in years. I thought I was gonna pass out laughing when DP was fighting the villain at the end and the villain said, "OK, fists" and DP said, "Sounds like your last Saturday night".
