harsh flavors

I've got some pineapple from tfa that I tried using as a stand alone flavor. I think I mixed it at 10 or 12 percent and it's about the harshest thing I've ever tried to vape. It doesn't taste like I added to much though. Is this a problem with the flavor or have I done something wrong?

I find it pretty harsh, myself. I tried it at 5% and thought it was too perfumey. I dropped it down to around 2%, or if I'm mixing it with other flavors, maybe 1%.

I just recently got the FA Pineapple. Smells terrible! Tastes yummo.

I started at 5% but it seemed a little weak for a stand alone flavor. At 10% the taste is okay it just tears my throat out like a pack of rabid dogs. Coughed so much I think I pulled something. I'll have to give fa a try

I figured that single flavor juice would be the best way to start diy but now I'm not so sure. Alot if the flavors aren't quite what I expected. I got some kind of fuity cereal flavoring from vaporshots my very first diy order. Ended up calling it assholes and arm pits. Glad I joined this group, its really turned around my whole diy experience.

Lmao, great description for some! I've had a blast with FA flavors. I had no idea how good DIY could be. I found the right group of people to learn from, too. This is a great DIY forum. I use some TFA, some Inawera, some Capellas and even a couple Hangsen. FA is my main arsenal, though. So many brands to choose from and they each have at least a few that shine.

Maybe do a few double flavor mixes, or even cruise the recipes section and try a few out. There's some amazing stuff going on in the recipes here. WOW. Crazy good stuff.

Yeah I'm definitley gonna try some of the recipes on here. Maybe that'll give me a good starting point before I try my own. At least I'll have stuff that's vapable.

Tfa pineapple can over ride and go wicked harsh.
I found you can round the harsh with some tfa mango and green tea... pineapple and mango about 2-3% tea at 3%.

It for sure needs to be mixed with something else imo. It sure won't work stand alone for me. I like a good pineapple vape but only if it doesn't make me spit a lung out.

I made this, too, but it wasn't posted. It's pretty good. Not great, but good.

2% FA Vanilla Classic
1.5% FA Coconut
1% TFA Pineapple
0.5% Caps Sweet Cream.

If you don't have FA, you can use any that you like or prefer.

The Citrus Mix in the Orange Julius ended up tart, so try orange, or whatever flavor you prefer. It does require pineapple, so you're that far ahead

I've got some tfa orange cream that I'm liking pretty good. I may try that. Seems like every time I try a tart vape I end up with a sore throat. I had a super awesome store bought fruit/lemonade vape. It gave me a 90 year old man scratchy voice though.

If you do try FA Pineapple, please start WAY under 5-10%. Huck's Orange Julius would be a great first taste of this flavor.

I often use it at very tiny amounts (0.25-.5%) as a sweetener for other fruits. Even then it can taste stronger than anticipated, depending on the other fruit flavors.

Thank you guys for taking time to help out all us new people. I know I appreciate it a whole lot. I absolutely love the VU. Everyone always seems to be looking out for every one else. Its impressive. I'm definitely gonna be trying out the reciepes I've seen on here. Thanks for the great advice!

TFA Orange Cream is very good. Can make a great Creamsicle blend
