I just finished a new build on my X1 which came to 0.27 ohms ( measured on a geekvape tab and another ohm meter ) and put it on my Alien which read the ohms extremely high. I changed out the batteries on the Alien then screwed back in my atty and it was reading at 0.50. I tried another atty which was running at 0.24 ohms and it read 0.50 again. It's also not asking if there's a new coil being installed anymore.

Is it time to bin this mod?

Unscrew the atty just enough so the alien complains no atomizer when you pull the trigger. Then screw it all the way on and pull the trigger. This forces it to re-read the ohms on my g-priv.

Thanks for that mate. I tried it and it worked. It's now reading 0.27 ohms like it should be.

Awesome. I am not sure why sometimes it behaves this way. Seems like a bug to me.

Yeah, it completely wigged out there for a second. I thought I was going to have to bin it but it seems to be working fine now.

Good suggestion, I was gonna say the same thing. At first it would ask me new atomizer every time but quit after a wk or 2. I loved my alien but had poor luck with it, it only last 2mo maybe. I did the firmware update then it wouldn't turn back on: / glad u got it fixed mate!

My H-Priv and Alien both do this from time to time. I can only assume it is a quirk of SMOK mods, and you have to fire without the tank or RDA on to force it to read the new resistance.

Other times, my Alien will ask me if it is a new coil when I have been using the same build for days or even weeks (I use many tanks in rotation on different mods, so don't rebuild as often as some people).

It is a bit hit and miss I think with these mods, sometimes being overly picky, other times not noticing changes in resistance.
